A great case to illustrate class II correction (reduce the upper front teeth protrusion and have the side fit together like a zipper) with . The deep bite (where you don't see the bottom front teeth initially) was also corrected! Great wear of his aligners and elastics and we got here in under 18 months. Just a few more aligners needed to touch it up now!

I laugh when I hear some orthodontists say they "NEVER have teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment"... Like it's a badge of honor. While not our first choice, sometimes removal of teeth is necessary to allow the remaining teeth to be placed in the ideal position not only esthetically, but also for health and stability. The roots of teeth should be centered in the alveolar bone. Forcing severely crowded teeth into deficient alveolar bone (the bone that houses the teeth), will have the teeth at the edge or THROUGH the outer surface of the bone, risking recession mobility and periodontal issues for a lifetime. When treated properly, extracted teeth are never missed... And the result is stable and beautiful!

It was a very exciting weekend in NOLA at the AAO meeting, being a part of Solventum Orthodontics ics (formerly 3M Orthodontics) unveiling their newest innovation, which takes Clarity Aligners to a level where they stand alone. "Precision Grip Attachments" are 3D printed and provide a superior level of precision and efficiency! It was great having my team there as well to support me (and to have some fun too šŸ˜).

At Great Neck Orthodontics, we have built our practice around a unique practice vision. Due to our economy, orthodontic practices all over our area have been focusing more on the ā€œbusinessā€ of orthodontics, instead of the ā€œpracticeā€ of orthodontics. Dr. Doug and Dr. Janine believe the focus of a truly successful practice needs to be on the patient.

Our focus is not only on personalized, state-of-the-art orthodontic care, but also on providing a top-notch patient/family experience. The patient experience depends on us taking the time to get to know our patients and their families, so we can provide appropriate, individualized care. We want our patients to feel like part of our family. This is not an ā€œassembly-lineā€ type practice where you see the assistants more than you see the doctor.

We strive to ā€œbe the bestā€ for our patients, because we believe if we are successful at all of the above, our patients will not only refer others to us, but they will be our biggest fans, and will go out of their way to tell their friends and family about our practice!

Great Neck Orthodontics was established with the belief that if we are successful at staying committed to our vision, the ā€œbusinessā€ of growing our practice will largely take care of itself; and that will allow us to continue to concentrate our time and efforts on our amazing patients and their care!
