Art journaling has become my favorite way to process life. The outcome of a page is less important than the process of sitting in our thoughts and feelings and working through them. More art journaling posts to come!

Here is one of my first efforts at painting with wax. I think this encaustic mini may get a few more layers but it’s a fun start!

I’ve used clear encaustic layers in my mixed media work for several years. It’s a mixture of beeswax and damar resin. In this case, mixed with pigment to create beautiful colors.

For the last two weekends I got to teach some art workshops at

First, an Art Journaling workshop to process last year and begin 2026. Then, this weekend was introducing Alcohol Ink painting and making greeting cards.

Both weekends were so much fun! It seems we all need more time to play and create. More workshops coming soon!

2025 was a gift in so many ways! Both personally and in my business, there was growth, celebration and joy.

In February, I offered my first Art & Soul Care retreat with a small group of friends joining me to rest and create in beautiful Hawaii.

Our daughter graduated in May and we enjoyed time celebrating with some of our favorite people.

We took a family trip to Italy and made some precious memories in beautiful locations with amazing food.

The second half of the year was marked with our daughter starting college and I started making art more intentionally.

I have my art in a booth at the in downtown Greeley, and also participated in two winter markets in town. I’ve really enjoyed painting with alcohol inks, adding encaustic and resin finishes, creating trinkets and gifts, and making some mixed media journals.

Coming later this month, I’ll be teaching two workshops on art journaling and alcohol inks.

I’m excited to announce that some of my artwork is for sale at in Greeley! I have been working on using alcohol inks in paintings, ornaments and trinket dishes. I also have hand painted journals, photo cards, and encaustic artwork with more to come!

I’ve been busy creating this summer. Any friends out there playing with alcohol inks?? I’m really enjoying them!
