Rob shattered a vertebra. Doctors warned him that back pain would be his new normal. After a serious spinal injury, Rob Buirgy was told to expect back pain for the rest of his life.

After hearing about the Gokhale Method, he didn’t accept that.

Looking up shouldn’t mean crunching your neck.

Most of us are in the habit of squishing our cervical spine when we look up, bend, laugh, or even express surprise. When the head drifts forward and the chin lifts up, we end up with a scrunched neck. Over time, this compression adds strain, stiffness, and pain.

In this photo, Esther shows her neck remains free and lengthened without compression This is what it looks like to preserve cervical integrity. Allowing the neck to lengthen rather than collapse, even in expressive movements.

Meet Rob Buirgy, an inspiration of how healthy posture can support healing, resilience, and a return to the activities you love.

After sustaining a serious multiple-fragment compression fracture of his T12 vertebra, Rob was placed in a body brace for months and told recovery would be slow. Having followed the Gokhale Method® for about two years already, Rob trusted his instincts and took an online consultation and completed our online Gokhale Elements Course.

Just months later, he was back on the river, rowing for hours, and today he’s enjoying what he loves most: rafting, hiking, and life outdoors.
