The Makau Fish Hook

Originating in Hawaii and having cultural significance throughout the Polynesian Triangle, this symbol is traditionally carved from bone, wood, stone or coral.

In Hawaiian culture, The Makau symbolizes our connection to the ocean and is used as protection for safe passage over bodies of water.
