🤱August is National Breastfeeding Month, and we're inviting families across Brown County to normalize and celebrate breastfeeding by sharing real-life photos and stories.

Breastfeeding doesn't look the same for everyone, and this is exactly why your story matters! Whether you're nursing at home, pumping at work, feeding in public, or supporting a breastfeeding parent, you can help others feel seen, supported, and empowered.

By contributing to Through Their Eyes, you're helping show what breastfeeding looks like in Brown County: the quiet moments, the challenges, the joy, the pride, and everything in between. Stories and pictures can include breastfeeding, pumping, expression, donor milk, supplemental nursing systems (SNS), tube feeding, etc.

Selected photos and stories will be highlighted on our social media pages throughout August.

Help us build a culture where breastfeeding is seen, supported, and celebrated. Submit your story and/or photo below. Submissions can be anonymous if you prefer and photos do not have to be professional!

Drowning can happen in an instant, and even the most vigilant parents can be caught off guard.

It’s a devastating truth that often isn’t discussed due to the stigma attached. Many have adopted the “it won’t happen to me” line of thinking. However, data shows that 88% of drownings occur when an adult is present, further demonstrating that it can happen to anyone.

Use the 5 Layers of Protection at all times:
1. Barriers and Alarms
2. Active Supervision
3. Water Competency
4. Life Jackets
5. Emergency Preparedness

With the 5 layers in place, the risk of drowning is significantly reduced. These layers work together to create a comprehensive safety net, ensuring that individuals, especially children, are protected from accidental falls into water bodies.

Join the National Drowning Prevention Alliance in its mission to raise awareness and break the silence surrounding this critical issue. Together, we can make a significant difference!
