Youth Apprenticeship (YA) is making a difference in the lives of Pulaski High School senior, Lauren Burdette! She has been working with Emplify Health as a Patient Admissions Representative/Rehab Aide with PT at Titletown. Here is what she thinks about her experience so far:

“My experience with Bellin/Emplify and the youth apprenticeship program has been very positive and rewarding. It has taught me a lot and helped me gain valuable hands-on experience, especially when interacting with people from diverse backgrounds. This exposure has improved my communication skills and taught me how to adapt to different situations and personalities. The program has also given me a better understanding of the professional environment and what it takes to succeed. Overall, it has been a great opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, preparing me well for future career challenges.”

Lauren’s work has been appreciated and noticed by many around her, including her leader, Kate Dusenbery. “Lauren has been a member of our Titletown Rehab aid team for about year and a half and has been a true asset to our team. She comes in each day with a smile on her face ready to start her workday and ensures our patients have an exceptional experience. Thank you, Lauren, for all of your hard work and dedication to our team and our patients!”

Wisconsin’s Youth Apprenticeship program is part of a state‑wide School‑to‑Work initiative. It is designed for high school students who want hands‑on learning in an occupational area at a worksite, along with classroom instruction.

During the program students:
• Earn academic credit
• Earn work‑related experience that aligns with their desired future career path
• Earn money
• Often find an employer they choose to stay with long‑term
