Day 492: Audrey’s days are always full whether we are driving to various drs appts, therapy or staying home. Today was an all day at home, but very full none the less. Routine things like, oral care, showering, taking med or receiving nutrition are always opportunities for therapies. There’s always lots of conversations and she engages in ways she can ( being non verbal doesn’t mean she lives in silence)
What we continue to see is that her response time is immediate these days. She is also always given opportunities to make some of her own decisions. Salina gives her choices. When dressing she’s given two options of tops and she’s able to select which she prefers. Lately she’s using her hand and will point to what she wants.
Just wanted to give you just a little insight into a day in the life of Audrey’s healing walk with God! And let me tell you He is ever present in her life and she knows it. We try to name 5 blessings every day and we pray.
Kash came in after work long enough to jump in the shower, get dress spend a few minutes loving on his sis while we were outside soaking up some sun, and then He was off to rodeo.
Audrey and I were praying as he drove off, for the Lord to keep him safe and that Kash make smart decisions, and we thanked the Lord for many things he has done. When I got through I looked up at Audrey and said don’t you just love to Praise the Lord? And she immediately raised her hand and opened it. Maybe she was agreeing and saying yes or maybe she was lifting her hand in praise!!! You choose
We finished the afternoon and evening working on balance, centering, did 15 minutes on vibration plate, played a little kick ball, I did some muscle massaging ( she loves this) facial massage, wore weights on her ankles, did stretches on her arms and worked on swallowing and eating ice chips.
She spends most of her days awake and very alert and is always up for a challenge!
Hebrews 12:1-2: "...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith..."
Please keep praying, especially for the muscle spasms in her leg to subside, they have been more frequent lately.
Thank you all!
