Why handmade soap??? Real handmade soap contains raw ingredients which include fats and/or oil, liquid & lye. Handmade soap contains glycerin, a NATURAL BYPRODUCT of the soap making process, an excellent moisturizer & one of the reasons handmade soap is so good for your skin! Glycerin is an emollient which attracts moisture from the air maintaining moisture in the skin throughout the day. Store bought, mass-produced bars do not contain glycerin, leave your skin dry & irritated & are not recognized as REAL soap by the FDA as the ingredients contain harsh detergents & hardening agents. Most mass-produced bars you buy from the drug store or supermarket have packaging that omits the word soap, instead, calling them moisturizing bars or cleansing bars.
