Did you know that research suggests a potential link between oral health and Alzheimer's?💡
According to a study published in Science Advances, the bacteria that causes gingivitis (gum disease), Porphyromonas gingivalis, "can move from the mouth to the brain. Once in the brain, the bacteria release enzymes called gingipains that can destroy nerve cells, which can lead to memory loss and eventually Alzheimer's."
Good oral hygiene practices may help reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.🎗️
