I am a lifelong dancer... in college it was ballet, jazz and modern. Then, like millions of others I fell in love with Dancing with the Stars on TV. In my early 20s I caught nearly every episode and even saw a live tour when it came to town. I’ve always had it on my list: one day I’d love to dance in a competition like that. And over the past few years I have had the privilege of learning some ballroom and latin dance at Dance Center International, which is an incredible studio. Watching the professionals dance (especially in competitions) would often reduce me to tears.
This year is already starting out as a miraculous one for me, Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunset has handed me quite literally a dream come true: a chance to dance in ”Clay Can Dance”: a community dance competition fundraiser benefitting a scholarship fund for deserving students to attend career and technical programs.
The event will be April 11 at 6pm at Sullivan Hall. Tickets are on sale now.
Here’s what I’m asking: please donate to my page: I’m in it to win it, and it’s a fantastic cause. I’d love for you to attend the event & come see me dance! It’s going to be a fabulous evening: dinner, drinks, a silent auction and incredible entertainment.
If you or someone you know could donate a silent auction item, that would be amazing! Message me: I’m happy to pick it up, even a gift certificate for your services would be fantastic, I can make a nice display for it.
I’m going to provide updates all along as I meet my pro partner, we start working on our routine and my dream starts to take shape.
Thank you everyone for your support! Please share and follow along!
