I've tried not to blog about this. But I can't resist. Tomorrow morning at about 6:25 a.m., New York will experience a lunar eclipse that will occur just before sunrise. In fact, we could be blessed with an extremely rare phenomenon. For at that time, give or take a minute or two ... we could have a selenelion. A selenelion (or "selenehelion") occurs when the Earth, moon and sun are perfectly aligned so that you can see the rising sun AND the eclipsed moon simultaneously - albeit 180 degrees apart from each other (moon at the front, sun at your back)....
