Soma means body.

Here separate from the spirit and mind.

When was the last time you acknowledged you even have a body aside from being angry with it?

In this day and age where we have so much happening each and every day. We are surrounded by technology at work and at home. Often, work comes home with us not only in the mind, but in our technology that we are glued to. It’s an interesting time to be existing on this planet and in our country.

Our body is truly magical. It keeps going without us having to consciously run it. It also takes the brunt of everything we do, see, and experience. It holds everything we ask it to.

We have mastered being solid. Stuffing, stuffing, stuffing, and continuing on. Getting through our day living from the neck up.

Somatic yoga slows us down. It invites us to be present with our body. It invites us to be present in the now. Although we do make some shapes with our bodies, it’s not about being flexible or making perfect shapes.

It’s about learning to listen to your body, to trust in yourself in that listening, and learning to move, breathe, and be with your body.

I lead the class by giving suggestions and you decide how to participate.

It really is way more that what can be said in a post. It is an experience.

Meet me on a mat tonight at 6:00pm and explore it for yourself.

This class provides an intensive, full-body practice that elevates cardiovascular health, builds deep muscular endurance, and deepens mental mindfulness far beyond a standard 60-minute

Let’s build up some heat, settle in, and then relax in a yummy extra long svasana. It’s a perfect balance of all things.

Three more opportunities this week to move, breathe, explore, be still, whatever it is you require ☀️

A 90 minute yoga class is considered to be a deep dive in to providing holistic benefits.

This extended class allows for complete systematic exploration
that covers almost every part of the body, including muscles, joints and organs
while fostering mental focus and relaxation.

Class ends with longer svasana time providing extra time to relax and integrate.

Moving the body and the mind from stress mode to repair mode.

Yoga for every body.

Join me on your mat and let’s see where the journey takes us.

What if your body does not need to be pushed or punished…
but understood?

Somatic yoga is not about flexibility.

It is not about yoga poses or how far you can go.

It is about learning the language your body has been speaking all along.

The tightness in your shoulders.
The way your breath stops without you noticing.
The subtle bracing you have carried for years.

Instead of specific poses or stretching past it…
we get curious about it through intentional movement.

The body begins to unwind not because we force it, but because it finally feels safe enough too.

This is where change actually happens.
Not in doing more…
but in paying attention differently.

All that is required is comfy clothing and the willingness to sit and breathe. You choose how much or little you move.

Happy Earth Day 🌳 🌎🌱

She heals us and we heal her.

Get your feet out on the bare earth and connect today.

Slow gentle breaths in and out.

Ask to receive from her and breathe.

Ask to contribute to her and breathe.

Not this…

A quiet remembering that you are not your thoughts, not the tension, and not the stories.

In this morning flow we will move and breathe with the practice of neti…neti…gently peeling back the layers of identification and returning to what is steady underneath.

Yin is quiet…but it reaches deep.

Beneath the muscles there is a web of connective tissue-fascia-that holds, supports, and remembers. Recent research is discovering a whole new world of information about fascia’s role in the body.

One of its purposes is holding memories and emotions. It responds less to what was previously believed by force but rather by time, presence, and gentle load.

This is where yin lives.

Long, supported shapes that invite hydration, elasticity, and space back into the body.
Not by pushing…but by staying

It is also where the nervous system begins to soften

Where the body feels safe enough to release what it has been quietly holding.

Tonight’s practice is slow, grounded, and inward.
A chance to settle beneath the surface and listen.
