Gentiva Hospice is proud to launch its 21st Annual Food Drive on September 1, continuing its commitment to fighting food insecurity in the communities we serve. Last year, the campaign provided more than one million meals—a milestone we aim to match again this year. We invite community members to join us by donating non-perishable food items or making monetary contributions to support local hunger relief efforts.

WHY: Hunger remains a pressing issue across the country. According to Feeding America, nearly 12 million seniors and older adults experience food insecurity. For older adults, food insecurity can severely impact health, exacerbating chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. As an organization dedicated to serving seniors, Brand Name is committed to helping ensure that no one in our community goes without this most basic need—nutritious food.

HOW TO HELP: Throughout September, Gentiva Hospice will be collecting both food and financial donations to benefit Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona

We’re currently seeking:

👥 Companionship Volunteers– Provide comfort and support to patients.
📋 Administrative Volunteers – Help in the office (we're especially looking for a friendly office greeter!).
🇺🇸 Veteran Volunteers – Help honor fellow Veterans through our We Honor Veterans program, including pinning ceremonies and social events.

📌 Ages 16+ can assist with administrative work.
📌 Ages 18+ can visit patients directly.
📌 Background check, drug screen and tuberculosis screen required. _ Paid for by Gentiva, we do not test volunteers for THC

At Gentiva, you’ll be joining a team of physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, and spiritual care providers — all working together to provide compassionate, family-centered care.

On Wednesday, Oct 23rd, 2024, Gentiva staff honored those who had passed in the last six months with hospice. It is a time to reflect and reminisce about the loved ones who have passed. Green Valley Baptist Church, once again, so graciously opened its doors to our hospice and the families attending. Thank you!
