Today we are celebrating our amazing friend, Gordo, and wishing him the happiest of birthdays! 🎉🎂

Gordo brings so much joy to our community through his kindness, love, and unwavering determination. He is an inspiration to everyone around him, and we are so blessed to know him. His friends got him a Birthday Shirt from their Spark Shop, and took turn signing it, to make sure he has a Spark filled day. ✨🎁Happy 44th Birthday, Gordo! Our community is getting fiesta-ready! Today, our amazing Resident Event Committee came together to help prepare the building for our upcoming Cinco de Mayo celebration, filling the halls with excitement and festive spirit. Their teamwork and creativity are making sure everything is ready for a week full of fun and celebration.

The festivities will officially kick off this Saturday with the lively sounds and vibrant entertainment of Tucson Folklore. The celebration will continue through Tuesday, May 5th, leading up to a grand finale featuring delicious Mexican appetizers and refreshing Mocktail Margaritas. Even more special, residents will enjoy sipping from their very own personalized Margarita glasses, created during their upcoming Sip and Paint class.

We can’t wait to celebrate culture, community, and joyful moments together all week long! 🎉🌮🍹

Chef Dominick brought sweetness to the day with a delicious Food Demonstration featuring Strawberry Shortcake! 🍓🍰 Our Cooking Club Leader, Dee, had the special opportunity to be his assistant and proudly showed off her impressive whipping skills while helping prepare this tasty treat.

The timing was perfect, as everyone was able to enjoy the fresh Strawberry Shortcake during Happy Hour before settling in for Bingo fun. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, teamwork, and a dessert that made the day even sweeter!

Today’s Cooking Demonstration with “Chef Alaura” was truly a treat for the senses! 🍞🌿

Our residents rolled up their sleeves and learned how to make fresh, homemade ciabatta bread from scratch. In honor of Earth Day, they added a creative twist—decorating their loaves with vibrant, fresh vegetables to resemble their very own vegetable gardens. The results were as beautiful as they were delicious!

The entire building was filled with the heavenly aroma of freshly baked bread, bringing warmth and smiles to everyone who passed by. After baking, residents gathered in our Harmony Garden to enjoy their creations, surrounded by nature’s beauty. 🌼 The garden has been especially lively lately, with lovely visits from cardinals and hummingbirds—making the experience even more special.

Moments like these remind us that joy can be found in simple pleasures: good food, creativity, and time spent together. 💛

Happy Earth Day! 🌎💚

Today, we’re celebrating the beauty of nature and the incredible dedication of our residents—especially our amazing Resident Master Gardeners! Their hard work and passion continue to bring life, color, and purpose to our community.

From tending to our thriving vegetable garden to nurturing vibrant flower beds, their green thumbs are always at work. And the excitement doesn’t stop there—we’re also preparing for something truly special: our upcoming Butterfly Garden 🦋—a peaceful, pollinator-friendly space for all to enjoy.

These gardens are more than just beautiful spaces—they reflect teamwork, growth, and the joy that comes from caring for the world around us.

Yesterday’s Food Demo was chef’s kiss 👨‍🍳💋 thanks to our very own Senior Lifestyle Director, Johanna… or as we now call her, “Chef Johanna.”
She whipped up not one, not two, but THREE cheesecake variations—including her unforgettable signature: “Hold On to Your Briefs Brownie Cheesecake.” (Yes, it’s as good as it sounds… maybe even better 😄)
Our residents jumped right in—taking turns, asking questions, and of course, sampling along the way. The grand finale? Enjoying their creations during Happy Hour and Bingo… because nothing pairs better with a fun-filled day than cheesecake and a little friendly competition! Safe to say… we’re still thinking about that cheesecake!

📣We like to thank our wonderful friend, Ms. Cathy for all her support and additional baked goods for our Happy Hour, and Susie from Aria Hospice and Comfort Care for the best Bingo prizes this week!

Yesterday was a truly special day as we celebrated the Grand Opening of our beautiful Harmony Garden. 🌸

The ceremony began with a heartfelt prayer from Kevin, our Harmony Hospice Chaplain, followed by our Resident Spiritual Leader, Tom, who shared the Daily Word and offered blessings for everyone involved. Their words set a meaningful and peaceful tone for the morning.

With soft, beautiful ballads playing in the background, guests enjoyed a lovely atmosphere inspired by our spring cherry blossom theme. From refreshing snow cones and coffee to delicious donuts and treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Surrounded by great company—and even a few birds stopping by to sing—it felt like the perfect way to welcome this new space.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Nate, Kevin, and Jason for their incredible support. Because of their contributions, we are proud to say that Harmony Garden is now open and ready for everyone to enjoy. 💕🌿

Yesterday’s Garden Committee Meeting was a beautiful reminder of how far we’ve come and all the exciting things ahead! We gathered under incredible weather—sunny skies and a perfect high of 81°—to talk about upcoming plans, including the addition of a Butterfly Garden and more seating areas for everyone to relax and enjoy.

As we soaked up the sunshine, the sound of birds filled the courtyards, clearly just as happy as we are with all the flowers and thoughtful changes we’ve made. With everything coming together so nicely, our gardens are looking more vibrant than ever—just in time for Mother’s Day! 🌸🦋
