🧑🏻‍🍳This week at Canyon Valley has been wonderfully busy and full of adventure! On Monday, we continued our culinary journey and tested two more Signature Recipes for our upcoming Spark Bake Sale this Thursday, November 20th at 2:30pm.

🍌Banana bread fans — you’re in for a treat! And if chocolate is more your style, our residents have something special baking just for you.
Our residents will be baking fresh goodies every week, available for purchase right in our lobby. We’ll also have a comment box ready for your thoughts and suggestions — they truly love hearing your feedback!

🥂 Cheers to another wonderful Family & Friends Happy Hour and Bingo! This week’s Bingo was dedicated to our beloved Ms. Norma Jean, with her daughter and many friends joining us to celebrate her. 🍪

🍃 These weekly gatherings do more than bring everyone together—they create meaningful moments that strengthen bonds, spark joy, and support the emotional well-being of our Memory Care residents. Families cherish having a special space to laugh, connect, and enjoy meaningful activities with their loved ones.
🍃 As Craig’s wife shared, “I really love the opportunity to spend quality time with my husband, doing something we both enjoy. We look forward to this every week.”
🍃 A heartfelt thank-you to Ms. Cathy for the delicious party favors—her homemade chocolate and peanut butter cookies were a hit—and for her ongoing support of our community. 🙏🏽

💐Meet one of our newest residents, Carrie! In just two days, Ms. Carrie — a former florist — has already made meaningful friendships and begun sharing her wonderful talents with our community. She’s now our very own Resident Florist, teaching others how to create beautiful flower arrangements for all of our dining tables.
🍂What makes Canyon Valley so special is the way our residents step into purposeful, meaningful roles that enrich not only their lives, but the entire community. Carrie has embraced this spirit wholeheartedly. By sharing her skills and passion, she’s helping create a warm, welcoming environment that feels like home — a place where deep connections come naturally.
🍁And because she knows firsthand what it feels like to be “new to the neighborhood,” she has also volunteered to become the newest leader of our Welcome Committee, ensuring that every new resident feels supported, seen, and immediately part of something special. We’re so grateful to have you with us, Carrie! 🌸

🎶 Sing-Along Thursday with our friend Dorcy Long was an absolute hit! We sang theme songs from our most beloved sitcoms, sparking beautiful memories along the way. We wrapped up with a special tribute to our November birthdays, followed by our beloved “Happy Trails” — a gentle reminder that it’s never “goodbye,” but always “see you later.”
🎤There was singing, laughter, and an abundance of joy as the music lifted our spirits and moved our 🎶 Thank you Dorcy Long for being such a big part of our community, a community that you start as friends, and become family.

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes at Canyon Valley Memory Care 🇺🇸

❤️Today, our community came together to honor the brave men and women — our veterans and their spouses — who have served our country with courage and devotion.
🤍Our ceremony began beautifully with Boy Scouts Troop #770, who proudly led us in the Color Guard and Pledge of Allegiance. This was followed by a touching Pinning Ceremony led by Retired Air Force Veterans Ray Velez and Taja Alcantara from Traditions Health.
💙We ended with a heartfelt moment of silence as our flags were raised — remembering and honoring all those we love who have served. ✨As a token of appreciation, our residents presented the Boy Scouts and Veterans Ray and Taja with a special basket filled with their Signature Spark Baked Goods — soon to be launched during our upcoming fundraiser on Thursday, November 20th.

📣 A special thank-you to Leslie from Traditions Health, Jason Hendrix and Troop #770, PJ from Bristol Hospice, all the families and friends who joined us, and our wonderful Lifestyle Director, Johanna Turnbull, for making this another successful and meaningful event.

Building Memories Every Friday ✨
Happy Hour & Bingo Fridays continue to be a resident and family favorite here at Canyon Valley. Beyond the fun prizes, these gatherings create special moments of connection, laughter, and togetherness that mean so much to our community. Thank you all for joining us. See you next week!

🐾At Canyon Valley Memory Care, acts of kindness are at the heart of what we do. This week, our residents rolled up their sleeves and spent the afternoon making homemade dog treats and pull toys for the dogs at our nearby animal shelter.
With plenty of laughter, teamwork, and a whole lot of love, residents mixed, shaped, and packaged each treat with the hope of bringing comfort—and a tail wag or two—to animals waiting for their forever homes. Spark projects like this not only help our community, but also give our residents a meaningful way to share their talents, nurture their sense of purpose, and connect with others in need.
We are so proud of their generosity and the joy they bring to every project. 🐶❤️ Here’s to small acts of kindness making a big difference!

🪵Before the month came to a close, we made one last trip to Madera Canyon to soak in the crisp autumn breeze. 🍂 After one of our busiest months yet, it felt good to pause, meditate in the quiet of the wilderness, and reflect on all the SPARK-filled moments we’ve shared.
With grateful hearts and excitement for the adventures ahead, we welcome a brand-new month. Hello, November! 🍁✨
