Community Speech Services We are a private practice located in Green, Ohio. We also contract with local hospitals, schools, and group homes.

We are a private practice in Green, Ohio that provides speech/language services to children and adults throughout the community. We have been serving the Akron/Canton area for over 18 years providing comprehensive evaluations and therapy services in our office, schools, workplaces, and various contract sites. Our professional staff are all certified by the American Speech Language & Hearing Association (ASHA), possess a Masters Degree, and are licensed by the State of Ohio. As speech and language pathologists, we are trained to evaluate and treat children and adults having a variety of disorders. We have the diverse educational and experiential background necessary to treat any type or severity of communication disorder including apraxia, articulation/phonological disorders, autism, receptive/expressive language delays, dysfluency (stuttering), augmentative communication, voice disorders, aphasia, and dysphagia (swallowing disorders). Our reputation is important to us and we show personal concern and care for every patient. Our office prides itself in an "open door" policy where communication between the patient and/or the patient's family is of the highest priority. Can you believe it's already August? We are getting ready for the start of another amazing school year and would like to share our August newsletter! This month we are discussing all things "inferencing."

Did you know we use inferencing skills everyday? Inferencing refers to the skill of connecting concepts (language) by using facts and reason. It sounds very complex, (and can be!) but the complexity can be scaffolded to target and develop inferencing skills at a simple, fundamental level (such as with pictures of everyday vocabulary.)
