Each year, more than 3,600 babies in the United States die unexpectedly. This is from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) or accidental deaths from suffocation or strangulation. Many of these deaths are preventable.
While this is scary for new parents, infant safety education is an important step to reducing risks for your baby and giving them the best care possible.
Join this class, facilitated by Safe Kids Palm Beach County, to learn the basics of baby safety including safe sleep, preventing shaken baby syndrome, caregiver safety, and more.

In 1985, Palm Beach County saw a dramatic increase in the number of women walking into local hospitals to deliver babies, having received little or no prenatal care. These births, known as “walk-ins” became a growing concern.
In response, a community under the leadership of Dr. Carl Brumback, Dr. Marsha J. Fishbane, and Dr. David W. Martin established Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County in January of 1986 to ensure any woman who needed early affordable care during her pregnancy could get it. We are proud to know that since then, we have been delivering on our promise.

Back in the 1980s, all too often expectant mothers walked in Palm Beach County hospitals ready to give birth without seeing a doctor. Babies were born too early and too small, and to mothers who needed help.

Last Saturday, our team joined dozens of nonprofits at Wellington International for the 2026 presented by Fidelity Investments® — and we’re still buzzing! It was an amazing equestrian event filled with talented riding teams, costumes and philanthropy!

We are incredibly grateful for the skill and dedication of the riders representing HMHB, along with the generous support of Team Sponsor, Crown Family Stables, and Supporting Sponsor, The Mershad Family. HMHB was also honored to receive a separate grant from Evergate Stables, bringing our total donation for the event to $43,000 - an incredible investment that will help us advance our mission!

In all, more than $2 million was distributed to benefit nonprofits across our community.
We are truly thankful to have been included in such an inspiring evening!
