After 29 incredible years of dedication, love, and service, this week we celebrated the retirement of someone very near and dear to our hearts — Abby! 💙

For nearly three decades, Abby has helped make The Waters of Greencastle feel like home through her hard work in housekeeping and the special relationships she built with both residents and staff along the way.

While we are celebrating her well-earned retirement, we’re so happy that this isn’t truly goodbye — Abby will still be working PRN and stopping by to visit the residents and team she loves so much. 😊

Thank you, Abby, for 29 amazing years of compassion, commitment, and heart. Your impact on our community will never be forgotten! Congratulations on your retirement!

🎉 Happy National Skilled Nursing Care Week! 🎉

This week, we’re celebrating what truly makes The Waters so special — our incredible staff and amazing residents 💙

From the care and compassion to the laughter and fun, it’s the people here who make this the BEST place to be!

♠️♥️🐇 We’re having a wonderland of a time celebration at The Waters of Greencastle! From themed dress-up days to sweet treats and creative fun, the week has been filled with laughter, memories, and lots of team spirit. 🎩⏰

Residents and staff kicked things off with “I’m Late, I’m Late” Wacky Mismatch Day, enjoyed delicious fried chicken and the famous homemade cinnamon rolls from the Putnam Inn, and got creative making “un-birthday” hats for our upcoming celebration! 🎉🎂 Loyalty to the Queen was also in full effect as staff showed up in red, black, hearts, diamonds, and all things Wonderland-inspired. ❤️♣️♦️

Happy ! 🎉

We kicked things off today at The Waters with a Mad Hatter Style Tea Party! From Crazy hair to mad hats and a delicious ice cream social compliments of Luminary Hospice. Our residents also enjoyed crafts, mad hatter trivia, & an old version of Alice in Wonderland!🎩🫖

This week is all about honoring the residents and staff that make The Waters such a special place. We’re excited to celebrate the compassion, joy, and teamwork that make our community shine every single day! 💙

Happy to the strongest nurses we know! 💪

We’re so lucky to have the most dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking nurses around. While Nurses Week officially kicked off yesterday (May 6), we couldn’t wait to start the celebration—so we’ve been honoring our incredible team all week long! 💙

This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Richard! 💙

Richard is from Greencastle and is surrounded by so much love. He has a wonderful wife, Nancy, who visits him nearly every day, along with his three sons who also stop by regularly. Family means everything to Richard, and he is so grateful to be close to them.

Although Richard is legally blind, that doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest! He stays actively involved in so many of our daily activities, including Men’s Group, church and Bible study, music programs, exercise, entertainment, gospel programs, and all of our special events and parties. His positive attitude and determination are truly inspiring.

Most recently, with a little help from his wife Nancy and our activities staff, Richard helped stuff Easter eggs for our facility’s Easter egg hunt—proving that nothing can hold him back! 🐣✨

Richard is known for his great sense of humor and loves joking around with both peers and staff. He also enjoys going out to lunch and especially loves when Nancy is able to join him.

We are so lucky to have Richard as part of our community—he brings joy, laughter, and inspiration to us all! 💛
