You have reasons to not sign up. We have responses to those reasons.
I haven’t camped before:
It’ll be a great time to learn. There will be men with varying levels of knowledge on “how to camp.” Don’t sweat the little stuff.
I don’t like camping:
Okay. But you need something different and camp is meant to be just that. You aren’t supposed to be comfortable the whole time.
I don’t like being cold:
Awww, poor guy. Learn how to dress and stay warm enough. Plus, fires are hot.
I don’t know if I can physically do it:
You can. If you have some physical limitations, we can support you. Kill your pride and ask for help. There are big difference between physical limitations and mental limitations you may place on yourself. Let’s kill some of those mental limitations while we’re at it.
I won’t know anybody:
To be honest, that’s even better. Nobody is going to know everybody. But by the end, we will have forged some solid connections and with other men who are local that can continue to fight alongside one another. If you’re from out of the tri-state area, we aim to place you with men closest to your area.
It’s too far away:
Believe it or not we have had guys from all over the country show up. It may be far, but it’s worth it. Get some buddies and make a road trip out of it. Who doesn’t like a road trip with buddies?
I don’t believe in God and I don’t like church:
So. That doesn’t change the fact you are tired, worn-out from your current routine, way of life, whatever it is. Come get refreshed, get away from things for a weekend. Lean into camaraderie with other men. Also, we aren’t a church. As noted before, we are just regular dudes.
I don’t have the gear to camp:
Excellent time to learn that you don’t have to do it all alone. We expect men will be helping each other in this department the whole time. Do not let gear be your reason to skip this.
I’d rather spend my free time with my family:
That’s noble and nothing to put down, but before you choose that, let us ask one question. How has that been going for you lately? What new ground do you plan to take? We spend a lot of time with our families, and it’s good. But, things look/feel/play out differently when we rest and come back into our lives ready to fight battles that mean something.
I’m more of a lone wolf kinda guy:
Lone wolves die. You need a pack, a tribe, a battle unit.
