Let's talk about repetitive strain injuries (RSIs). In our modern world, many of us engage in activities that involve repetitive motions, which can lead to discomfort and pain. 🔨
What are RSIs? RSIs are injuries that occur due to repetitive motions or overuse of specific muscles, tendons, and nerves. Common RSIs include carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, and tendinitis.
Symptoms to watch for: Pay attention to signs like persistent pain, tenderness, stiffness, weakness, tingling, or numbness in the affected area. These symptoms may develop gradually or suddenly, depending on the severity and duration of the repetitive motion.
How to prevent RSIs: Take proactive steps to prevent RSIs. Maintain good posture, use ergonomic equipment, and take regular breaks to rest and stretch your muscles. Incorporate strength and flexibility exercises into your routine to maintain balanced muscle strength.
