We also would like to thank the following people for the help pulling off the distracted driver simulation yesterday for the students of North Butler. University of Iowa Aircare 2 for bringing the helicopter to the high school and elementary.

After a successful distracted driver car simulation yesterday we want to give a shout out to some special people. Aubrie Obermier did an absolute amazing job with the makeup and bringing ideas to life for our three student actors with the help of Lindsay Landers. Also to Sam Stirling, Gussie Dralle, and Adri Sheppard for volunteering to be our actors. Just take a look at a few of the pictures

Happy EMS week. If you get a chance, please thank the volunteers of our Greene ambulance crew. We want to thank all former crew members who have paved the way for all us current members. The Greene ambulance is always looking for new members, both drivers and EMT’s. Just let a current member know you’re interested and we’ll get you started.

Just to let everyone know we will be conducting an exercise of a simulated head on collision with students from North Butler High School. This will take place Friday May 22 at 1pm at the intersection of 5th st. and Traer. Agencies involved will be Greene Ambulance, Greene Fire, Allison Ambulance, University of Iowa Aircare, Butler County sheriff’s deputies, Butler County EMS, Butler County EMA and North Butler High School. This exercise is to show students the dangers of distracted driving. We will be having an Aircare helicopter also land and take off from the football practice field. This exercise should only last about an hour. So please use extreme caution around this area during this time.

I got some news to share with all of you!! Butler County IA EMS is now able to provide Butler County and those in our service area advanced services! We will continue to support our EMS services as we have but now we are able to provide a higher level of care if needed. This has been a lengthy process with A LOT of hoops to jump through but we did it. WE are supper excited to be able to provide this service to those we serve and to continue to support our EMS services!

I do want to send a huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has been apart of making Butler County EMS a success it really has been great working in this position and working to improve what we can. I do have to say this, if you have any wonder what it is like please reach out to your local service because volunteers are needed not just in Butler County but for all of the services. EMS is a family especially in our county!

For those who know me know I don't like to be the "hey look at me" type but I do feel that you all need to know that while we have been silent on FB your/our tax money has been working for you/us!

Ok, I am going to end this post and get back to work! Please consider helping out your service if you can and most important please STAY SAFE!

In light of recent events, we would like to remind everyone that while technology and social media is so much a part of all of our lives, if you come upon any emergency situatuon please be very cautious about sharing information or images. We never know whose loved one may see the information, even when shared privately. An emergency situatuon may seem minor but could be very serious or even fatal. Would you want to learn that your child or loved one was injured in an accident or worse? Or that your home was on fire? We encourage everyone to please think about what you are posting and the impact it could have on someone else's loved ones.
