Join us for Constitution Day tomorrow at 10am.

In 1956 Eisenhower designated Sept 17th through 23rd as Constitution Week and Sept 17th as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, setting the precedent for all future presidents to issue similar declarations.

This year's presidential proclamation: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2024/09/16/a-proclamation-on-constitution-day-and-citizenship-day-and-constitution-week-2024/

Join us at the Federal Courthouse at 10am tomorrow to learn more about The Constitution, its protections and our responsibilities as citizens to deeply understand and uphold them.

Tomorrow, September 17th, is Constitution Day 2024 at the James H. Quillen United States Courthouse at 220 W. Depot Street. It starts at 10 am and will go until around 1:30 pm. There will be a live reading of the U.S. Constitution and an art contest showcasing student work.

Nolachuckey Daughters, the deadline to report the number of books donated and people read to is Thursday, June 27th. Please visit DAR.org/onlinetally to enter your volunteer service!

This year's DAR Service to America project has focused on education by counting the number of books donated to libraries and other community locations; and counting the number of people read to by our members (this includes children, students, veterans, etc.)

The deadline to report your totals is less than a week away. Please take time to log your totals on the DAR Service to America tally at DAR.org/onlinetally by Thursday, June 27.
