September is National Pain Awareness Month—a reminder that no one should face the end of life in pain. At Caris, our hospice teams are specially trained in managing pain, nausea, anxiety, and shortness of breath, ensuring every patient’s comfort and dignity. We don’t prolong life or hasten death—we focus on helping each person live as fully and peacefully as possible.

The Greeneville Team has been blessed with caring for a patient, Ruby, for the last several months. Due to recent events, she needed to move to Texas for extra care from her daughter. SW Diana Booher assisted with researching hospices in the area she is going to.

The team went out to visit with Ruby one last time and wish her safe travels, and ensure she had everything she needed before leaving. Safe travels, Ruby. We will miss you. You have left a lasting impact on the Greeneville Team!

Volunteer Coordinator Christine Nace of the Greeneville, TN Caris office hosted the very first Veteran to Veteran Cafe for Hawkins County at Array of Hope Ramos Ministries in Rogersville, TN. Homemade cookies donated by Caris Special Projects Volunteers and the generous donation of coffee and supplies by Donna and Jose Ramos were on hand to treat those who attended.

Annie, the Activities Director from Signature Healthcare of Rogersville, attended and has made plans to potentially bring resident veterans to the next Cafe in October. Many thanks to Array of Hope Ramos Ministries for the use of their facility and their enthusiastic partnership in this new venture. We are looking forward to serving more veterans in October!
