Our team had such a great time working together to build our scarecrow for the Scarecrows of Main 2025 event in downtown Greeneville! This was not only a fun project, but also a wonderful way to bond as a team and share our love for the local community. Be sure to visit downtown and check out all the creative scarecrow displays throughout the Main Street District.

Voting is open now and you can vote for your favorite entries in multiple categories. Voting closes Wednesday, October 22nd at 11:59 PM. Don’t forget to cast your vote for #9 – Caris! We’d love your support! This event is hosted by Main Street Greeneville and sponsored by Broyles General Store.

Volunteer Coordinator Christine Nace led the first Sunshine Arts Activity on October 2, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living Center. The residents and staff really enjoyed making fall-themed gnomes out of socks, felt and yarn.

Each participant created a unique gnome to either gift to grandchildren or use to decorate their apartments. The gnomes were labelled "Adorable" by all who participated. Plans were made for another activity in January 2026.

Thank you, Lori! We're honored to serve families like yours. Your kind words mean so much and reflect the passion our team has for caring for others.

"Caris Healthcare provided care for both my 91-year-old mother and my sister who battled lung cancer, and I will forever be grateful for the compassion, dignity, and love they showed our family.

Every nurse, aide, and staff member who came into our lives during these difficult times went above and beyond. They didn’t just provide excellent medical care — they offered comfort, understanding, and a gentle presence that brought peace to my loved ones and to us as a family. They treated my mother and sister as if they were their own family, always with patience and kindness.

Walking through two journeys like this is never easy, but Caris made sure we never felt alone. Their support gave us the strength we needed and gave my mother and sister the comfort and dignity they deserved.

Caris Healthcare is truly a blessing, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who wants their loved one to be cared for with the highest level of compassion and respect."

The Greeneville Caris team recently had the honor of fulfilling a very special wish for our patient, Michael.

Michael has a lifelong passion for motorcycles, and our team wanted to ensure that part of his story was celebrated in a meaningful way. With the help of Administrator Jessica Powell, her friend Logan Anderson, and a group of generous riders, we organized a motorcycle drive-through and meet-up just for Michael. From admission, our staff - Amie Rice, RN; Diana Booher, SW; and Christina Conrad, CNA, along with others, learned about his love for riding.

Per Michael’s request, the Greeneville team proudly wore blue jeans and made sure some of his favorite treats were waiting for him. The highlight of the day came when Michael got the chance to climb on a motorcycle and ride alongside one of the bikers—a moment that brought tears, smiles, and unforgettable joy. His daughter shared that he called her every hour that day, excitedly awaiting the event. Hospice is about so much more than care at the end of life—it’s about honoring each person’s journey, passions, and individuality.

At Caris, we meet our patients where they are and celebrate what matters most to them. A heartfelt thank you to Michael’s daughter Christy, his son Danny, and the incredible riders who made this day possible. Michael, his family, and our Caris team will forever cherish this memory.

The Greeneville team enjoyed their monthly staff meeting this morning. They kicked off the beginning of Autumn with soups, grilled cheese, cornbread, and fruit. At the end of each staff meeting, team members share special memories and fill a lantern with vials of sand in remembrance of the patients they had the privilege of caring for.

Our team worked very hard caring for a record number of patients this summer. We asked the team how they would like to celebrate, and they voted to silly string our Corporate Compliance Officer, Sylvia Singleton. Thank you, Sylvia, for being such a good sport!

Volunteer Coordinator, Christine Nace, held the 3rd Veteran to Veteran Cafe in Unicoi County at the Maplegrove Restaurant in Unicoi, TN.

Several veterans attended this popular gathering spot, and we were able to appreciate each of them with lapel pins and veteran resource handouts.

The next Cafe is scheduled for December 19, 2025. The good food and great conversation were greatly appreciated by all.

Administrator Jessica Powell and Director Of Nursing Mary Willis attended the 2nd annual Health Fair at the Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center. Sharing the services we provide is an excellent way to help our community. We are thankful to be able to be a part of the Greene and Hawkins County communities!

Earlier this summer, we reached a new all-time high of patients served. In celebration of all the hard work of our teams, we asked them to vote on the leader they would most like to see in a dunk tank. Sunday Watson, Regional Vice President of Operations for our Central offices earned that spot, and last week we learned that while none of us would be moving onto the MLB, we had a great time throwing a few baseballs and giving her a good soaking.

Thank you, Caris partners for all of your hard work!
