Dear friends and family,

We are heartbroken to share that two of our AKM of Tennessee staff members, a married couple, were involved in a tragic accident. One of them has sadly passed away, and the other is in critical condition.

Please lift their family up in your prayers—especially their daughter, who has intellectual disabilities and is struggling to understand and cope with this tremendous loss and trauma.

We are asking for prayers of healing, strength, and peace during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for keeping them close in your hearts.

Please pray for the President of our company, Stephanie McCarty and our Vice President, Kaleb Powell, as Stephanie’s twin brother, (Kaleb’s uncle),Stephen died in a plane explosion and crash Thursday evening in Georgia. Our hearts are broken for all of them and we pray that God will bless them with His Sweet Peace.

AKM has heavy hearts today as we have lost one of our very own!
Sharon was more than a caregiver or direct support! She was family! She was a heart of gold! She was a true companion for our people!
We will undoubtedly miss her immensely! Many prayers and condolences for all of her family, and her coworkers who loved her greatly!
Thank you for all your work for others here on earth, you’ve done a job well done and can now rest!

Words fail me but you didn’t. AKM family, Greene County, Shannon Valley Farms in Knoxville, Blount county, family and friends, strangers showing up at my office to help and so many more people in our surrounding areas and every Volunteer, thank you for all you’ve done in the last 2 days, we have served over 500 individuals and we hope to continue to serve as long as we can. And we all know that we have just begun on thus journey. I wish I had the words to express my appreciation for your gift and kindness. It came just when we needed it most! It is the wonderful actions of others that keep us going most days. This means a lot to our community, family and friends at this difficult time. A small ray of sunshine that brings some hope
Thank you so much for your support and if you see one of my staff at AKM please give them thumbs up. This would never taken place and fall in place with out everyone!!

How do you adequately thank the people who show up day in and day out and dedicate themselves to your company, your people, and your own lives?!?

I’m not sure there is a way that truly shows our appreciation but we hope for just a moment you felt loved, appreciated, and valued at AKM!
