Other observances include Recovery Month, Healthy Aging Month, and Urology Awareness Month.

August is widely recognized as Overdose Awareness Month. It culminates with International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) on August 31.

This observance provides a time to:
*Remember those lost to overdose and acknowledge the grief of their families and friends.
*Raise awareness about the ongoing public health crisis of drug overdose.
*Reduce stigma associated with addiction and drug-related deaths.
*Share information about evidence-based prevention strategies, treatment options, and recovery support services.

Following Overdose Awareness Month, September is recognized as National Recovery Month.
