Nurses Week Spotlight: Becky H., RN

As we wrap up Nurses Week, we’re proud to spotlight our Clinical Manager, Becky! Becky has been a nurse for 14 years and has been part of the Care Initiatives Hospice team for nearly 6 months.

Becky shared that what she loves most about hospice is helping patients and families navigate the final stages of life with dignity and respect. She beautifully describes hospice as “living your best life and leaving this life on your terms.”

When she’s not caring for patients and supporting our team, Becky enjoys motorcycling, camping, and spending time loving on her dogs!

Thank you, Becky, for your leadership, compassion, and dedication to hospice care. 💐

This week, our team at Care Initiatives Hospice had the honor of hosting a special “Bloom Bar” for the amazing team at Greenfield Rehabilitation & Health Care Center during National Skilled Nursing Care Week! 💐

As we celebrate this year’s theme, Moments in Bloom, we wanted to take a moment to recognize the compassion, dedication, and care these team members provide each and every day. They were invited to create their own flower bouquets as a small reminder to pause, enjoy the moment, and feel appreciated for all they do. 🌷

Thank you to the incredible team at Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the love and support you give your residents and families. We are grateful to partner alongside you! 💜

Nurses Week Spotlight: Amanda G., RN

Amanda has been a nurse for 12 years and is beginning her third year with our Care Initiatives Hospice team. 💙

“What I love most about hospice is the deeper appreciation for life it has given me and the connection to God it has strengthened. I love learning the unique stories of my patients and helping bring value and meaning to each day they have left on their journey.”

Amanda also shared something she wishes more people understood about hospice nursing:
“People often say hospice must be depressing, but I choose to focus on celebrating a person’s life. It’s an honor to bring comfort and peace during such an important time. Death is inevitable — a painful experience is not.”

When she’s not caring for patients and families, Amanda loves cheering on her three kids in all the things they enjoy. And if she gets a little time to herself, you’ll likely find her with a good book, preferably near a pool or relaxing in a hammock with a glass of wine.

Thank you, Amanda, for the compassion and heart you bring to hospice care every day 💐

Nurses Week Spotlight: Amy L., RN

Amy has been a nurse for 22 years and has spent the last 12 years serving with Care Initiatives Hospice. Her dedication, experience, and heart for hospice care make such a meaningful difference in the lives of those she cares for.

“What I love most about being a hospice nurse is having the honor to assist people along their final journey, providing support and education to their family along the way.”

Amy also wishes more people understood how greatly a person’s quality of life can improve with the support of hospice care.

When she’s not caring for patients, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, watching her three grandbabies grow, and being outdoors.

Thank you, Amy, for the compassion and heart you bring to hospice care every day 💐
