Recently, the Care Initiatives Hospice-Greenfield team spent a day with a beloved patient, Dean, visiting his "Home Place". RN Case Managers Susan and Stacy, along with Dean's family, planned a quality-of-life event to Dean's family farm, a day filled with reminiscence of Dean's childhood and many memories shared while traveling the rural country roads.

Dean shared with the team his memories of his up bringing in a home built by his father and his life shared with 10 siblings. The house and outbuildings are now gone, but the beautiful countryside remains, which sparked many memories for Dean: a two and a half mile walk to and from school (six miles when the creek flooded), swimming in the farm ponds, and protecting the sheep from the, then, plentiful timber wolves. Dean, his family, and our Hospice team members enjoyed the outing on a beautiful day.

At Care Initiatives Hospice-Greenfield, our team focuses on each person's quality of life and what it means to them. We strive to make every day a little brighter, a little happier, and far more comfortable for every patient we serve.

▪️What is something about Hospice that you wish more people knew? Hospice benefits patients and family, it is a lot of support in many aspects. I think a lot of people are misinformed of what hospice is and what can be done for loved ones.

▪️What is something about Hospice that you wish more people knew? Hospice is not a death sentence; we are here to help make the end of life as comfortable as possible. The hospice team is here for the whole family, not just the patient.
