National Nutrition Month, Week Two: Connecting to nutrition experts!!! WIC is a free food and nutrition program for low-income families from pregnancy through the first 5 years. Not only do they provide free food, they also offer free expert nutrition counseling and chest/breastfeeding support and connect you to valuable resources (like Healthy Families, ahem). At minimum, a WIC nutritionist must complete a 4year degree in human nutrition, and many of them are registered dietitians. To see if you qualify for WIC, click here:

WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. If you're a parent or legal guardian of a child under 5, you can apply for WIC for your child.
