Channel your inner peace with virtual yoga through Y4A (Yoga for Amputees). Designed specifically for people living with limb loss, limb difference, or limb limitation, including those recovering from limb injury, surgery, or other conditions that limit limb function, these free yoga classes include poses and actions that will be adapted to those with or without prosthetics.

Experience the beauty of outdoors while staying warm inside during a visit to the Mitchell Park Domes. Tour the arid “desert” dome, the tropical “jungle” dome, or visit the floral dome that has a new exhibit every three months! All exhibits are ADA accessible, each dome has automated doors through which to enter, and the tropical and desert domes have paved pathways.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for use while visiting and will be loaned out with a photo ID on a first come, first serve basis. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own mobility devices.

Accessible restrooms and water fountains are located at the entrance.

Looking for a fun weekend activity? Don’t miss the WASA - Wisconsin Adaptive Sports Association's 11th Annual Big Cheese Classic Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. Twenty-eight wheelchair teams will participate in the two-day tournament, February 8-9, at Pewaukee High School. Admission is free, and concessions are available on site.

This coming WEDNESDAY, February 5, the Amputee Support Group at Aurora West Allis Medical Center will meet at 8901 W. Lincoln Avenue in West Allis. The group meets every first Wednesday of the month from 1-3 p.m. in Meeting Room A.

Support groups are a vital part of the recovery process and provide an invaluable place for individuals and families who have been impacted by limb loss and limb difference to connect with others who have overcome similar challenges. The group provides speakers; education; and sharing of concerns, ideas, and support.
