Hello and Happy Thanksgiving!
It would be an understatement to say that this has simply been a challenging year, and a lot has transpired since my last Shiatsu update. First though I would like to wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving and Holiday season and hope that you are able to celebrate in some way with loved ones in your life (or finding some tranquil time in solitude.)
While we are all adjusting to the limitations of this moment right now, it is my hope that while in pursuit of the familiar, our creative impulses might imagine some things unexpected, new and surprising. Perhaps they might even take us closer to the heart of this holiday, helping us to recognize all that we have and to remember gratitude for our good fortune. Especially in the midst of so much turmoil, I am personally finding it important to be thankful for my health, the health of my family, the nutritious food I have access to, my warm clothes and warm home, the moments of quiet and peace that float by almost without notice, the solid earth supporting my feet, and for all the people who have come before who worked so hard and gave so much. For this I have gratitude and give thanks.
In this spirit, I would like to announce that for all shiatsu treatments booked from now through Friday December 18th, I will be donating fifty-percent of my standard fee to the 'Warm the Children" winter clothing drive, organized by the Greenfield Recorder and Community Action. I will also be offering shiatsu treatments at a fifty-percent reduced fee in exchange for a shopping bag of non-perishable food items brought to your appointment (to be donated to the Food Bank of Western Mass.) These issues sit close to my heart and while the impact of this effort is modest in comparison to the need, I am hoping that it will keep a few children and their families warmer and fed well this winter.
There are 4 weeks during this time period (Nov 24th through Dec 18th) and my goal is to fill all available appointments between then and now. Please consider helping me achieve this goal by booking at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040a4eafa92aa2f58-green
If you are unable to visit in-person at this time but would still like to provide support, please visit these websites to find out how to donate:

Since re--opening in August I have maintained strict COVID safety protocols for all patients visiting the office. These include 'masking-up' at all times, running a HEPA air filtration system continuously, full sanitization of treatment space between each patient, and hand sanitizer at the door. If there are other considerations that would help you to feel more comfortable and safe during your appointment, please let me know. For more information please visit my website at www.greenrivershiatsu.com or the sign-up page posted above.
Please be well,
