“I really think you should just stay home and rest. You’re always on the move.” - a lot of people, often
Staying at home on a beautiful Summer weekend is not restful to me. At all.
If you understand the healing power of the outdoors and adventuring in the woods, then I know you can relate. When you find the places that reset your nervous system, you go there, over and over. For some that may be their couch, for me it is in these photos.
I had my first weekend with zero plans this weekend and I have been needing some quality solo adventure time to replenish the soul. It sounds so cliche and woo woo but man, it is so real. I literally feel it happen.
So I spent not even 24 hours in Vermont mountain biking, swimming in the river, sleeping in my car (best night sleep in a long time), and just sitting in nature not talking. Fueled by burritos, a delicious 16 oz ribeye, gummies, and Super Secret ice cream.
We often forget to take the time to step away. I know it’s more difficult with kids and family. So challenging to do with social media and phones - constant contact. But if it makes you a better human in the end, try to prioritize it.
