A day filled with so much love, joy, sunshine, and torrential downpours. Seems fitting since I think that about sums up life too, right?

Some sneak peeks into our wedding day. We have received SO much love over the last few months and although I’m not great at accepting attention sometimes, I am forever grateful for the people who have said kind words, supported our vision, and continue to pour us with love.

A big shout out to my family for hosting this special day in every way. My brother and mother did the flowers, parents worked so hard on the house/yard, mother planned all details, and so much extended family helped with cooking, prepping, cleaning and more. I truly have the best family. And now it’s gotten even bigger.

If you scroll far enough you’ll see a beautiful surprise guest that came to the wedding too ❤️👶🏼 We are incredibly excited for our next adventure starting in early 2026.

“I really think you should just stay home and rest. You’re always on the move.” - a lot of people, often

Staying at home on a beautiful Summer weekend is not restful to me. At all.

If you understand the healing power of the outdoors and adventuring in the woods, then I know you can relate. When you find the places that reset your nervous system, you go there, over and over. For some that may be their couch, for me it is in these photos.

I had my first weekend with zero plans this weekend and I have been needing some quality solo adventure time to replenish the soul. It sounds so cliche and woo woo but man, it is so real. I literally feel it happen.

So I spent not even 24 hours in Vermont mountain biking, swimming in the river, sleeping in my car (best night sleep in a long time), and just sitting in nature not talking. Fueled by burritos, a delicious 16 oz ribeye, gummies, and Super Secret ice cream.

We often forget to take the time to step away. I know it’s more difficult with kids and family. So challenging to do with social media and phones - constant contact. But if it makes you a better human in the end, try to prioritize it.

When you find the person that never says no to an adventure, fosters your independence, loves good food as much as you, and makes you a kinder human being, you keep them.

Sam and I got engaged this past weekend and then had the most incredible snowy end of the season ski trip with some of my best friends. He proposed in our first apartment together, with the witness of Cody, our adorable neighbor pup who proceeded to hug us afterwards. It was a perfect moment for us.

In our typical fashion, we also have no photos of us from the weekend or with the ring. And that’s because that’s not what it’s about and we were just focused on enjoying the weekend. So here’s a photo of us in Washington last year. Every photo of us is on a mountain or trail of sorts and that’s just totally on brand for Ridgeline.

I can’t believe the incredible love we have already received from this community already. Thank you for caring ❤️

Weekly topic summary hits some good ones this week. Remember lovely people, everyone is different and therefore all these answers could be different depending on the person. Here’s what you SHOULD take away from it:

- older adults can jump
- foam pads aren’t the best or only way to challenge balance in older adults or anyone (they need to be hecka strong and reactive too…foam also isn’t often the most realistic surface)
- there aren’t really many inherently “bad” exercises. It’s all about how you do them, combine them and dose them
- your best posture is your next posture…not a stiff straight board of a back with shoulder blades locked in

I believe everyone should learn how to hinge. It is by far one of the most difficult movement patterns to learn and to teach though. These are some strategies I use when traditional weighted deadlift/RDL doesn’t look or feel great to the client.

I have seen this movement change the lives of many individuals and this is why I take the time, however long that is, to progress through it. Clients report more confidence in their body, they use it as a tool to actually decrease symptoms down the leg, and then once it feels solid, we can safely progress in to hip power movements which carry so many more benefits.

Now as per usual, a friendly reminder that this movement is not for everyone right now. At some point, probably, but maybe not right now. It could actually increase your symptoms. So this is not individualized medical advice.

Just sharing my love for the hinge and how important it is to work in to when the body is ready.
