I came across this quote while prepping for my upcoming women's spirituality group, and wanted to share it with you. It made me stop and reflect on all the things I've had to let go of (sometimes more willingly than others) during my own personal spiritual journey. Can anyone relate?!

The Exploring Spirituality group starts in two weeks! Message me if you have questions about the group and whether it's right for you!

I am a very visual person so, I really appreciate things like this infographic that provides a clear understanding of the various recovery TEAM members who may be involved in the treatment of substance use disorders. I am a fully licensed addictions counselor in NC. I am currently accepting new clients. If you are interested in teletherapy, call me at (336)866-0033. Let's get started!

During “quiet time” today, this Melodie Beattie quote struck me:

“I used to spend so much time reacting and responding to everyone else that my life had no direction. Other people’s lives, problems, and wants set the course for my life. Once I realized it was okay for me to think about and identify what I wanted, remarkable things began to take place in my life.”

It is clear to me that before recovery, I did not understand how much time I spent trying to “fix” others and how that distracted me from taking care of myself. Through therapy, and engagement in a program that helped me stop drinking and drug use, I have been able to experience recovery! As a result, I, too, am aware of many “remarkable things” taking place in my life AND in the lives of others.

Welcome to recovery!
