🫀Cone Health is the FIRST in North Carolina to offer HeartFlow Plaque Analysis, giving our heart specialists a powerful new way to identify dangerous plaque and reduce patients’ risk of heart attack.

This AI-driven technology looks at CT images of the heart’s arteries to see not just how much plaque is present, but what type it is and how it affects blood flow.

That means more personalized treatment plans – from lifestyle changes and medications to minimally invasive procedures like stenting – tailored to each patient’s unique risk.

Cone Health cardiologists helped lead major studies of this technology and are already planning new research to use these detailed heart models to better size and place coronary stents.

In recognition of this transformative generosity, our MedCenter for Women will be renamed the 🏥 Cone Health Pearl Walker Haygood MedCenter for Women. 🤰🏽💗

🩺 Dr. Haygood’s career has been defined by her dedication to underserved communities—a commitment rooted in her own family history.

⏪ In the 1940s, Dr. Haygood’s mother, Pearl, and her husband lost three of their eight pregnancies due to a lack of access to reproductive or general health information or practice. Today, Dr. Haygood is ensuring that other women don't face those same barriers.
