🫶 Did you know we have more than 400 volunteers across Cone Health's system?

Collectively, our volunteers donated over 🚀 70,000 hours of their time in 2025 to support our visitors, our patients, and our employees!

💞 Our volunteers show up with open hearts. They welcome strangers who may be feeling scared or uncertain, lend steady support behind the scenes, and help patients and families navigate some of life’s most important decisions, including advance directives. They ask for nothing in return—only the chance to help, to listen, and to make someone else’s day a little easier.

Once a year, we pause to celebrate them. 💙 We gather to say thank you—to share stories, laughter, and gratitude for the countless ways our volunteers lift up our patients, families, and care teams every single day.

👏 Because of our volunteers, compassion and being "right there with you" isn’t just something we believe in—it’s something our community feels every day.

Chronic pain. Fatigue. A sedentary lifestyle and numbers heading in the wrong direction. Precious knew she wanted to make a change and sensed Cone Health Sagewell Health & Fitness Eden was exactly what she needed.

Last October, Eunice lost her husband, Bo, of 48 years. Eunice started a journey to a healthier, longer life so she can be there for her children and grandchildren.

At 68 years old, Eunice became a member at Sagewell Health & Fitness Eden. "First time I came on the treadmill, I couldn't talk," she recalls.

Within four months of working with a health & fitness specialist, Eunice could exercise for an hour straight, proving that it’s never too late to improve your health!

👏👏 We are so proud of everyone who showed up for their own health and the health of others this past Saturday at Building a Better You: Alamance! 💙

On Saturday, May 16, we served about 100 attendees, 75% of whom received free health screenings at Building a Better You Alamance.

Attendees at this event got to experience
🩵 Screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, kidney diseases, A1C, cholesterol, and cancers
🩵 High Value Raffle Prizes including $100 gift cards, travel items and swag
🩵 Community resources for elders, families & children, nutrition and employment
