Riffey Assessments and Counseling Est.2019

Riffey Assessments and Counseling Est.2019 Follow R.A.C. to get helpful and uplifting information about how knowledge WITH therapy benefits you. Even as you help others, I am here to help.

With over a decade of experience, I’ve helped others succeed in their marriages, with varying addictions, PTSD, Anxiety, Men's Issues & the pressures that today's First Responders, Healthcare Clinicians, Veterans, Business Leaders & Educators felt and will face in pre & post-pandemic America. I will confidentially support you, your partner, or your family in reaching your goals. Some desire to process events in their life, some prefer tangible real-world solutions right now, and some want both. While you're working towards your licensure or credentialing, I will walk with you every step of the way as you learn how to be the best counselor, therapist or substance use professional you can be. This is one of the things that I enjoy most, and I look forward to meeting you and hearing more about your exciting future in such an exciting profession.

Willingness to consider others’ perspective is a very attractive and valuable quality to retain.

It results in people becoming attracted to you.

1. Never shake a hand while sitting.

2. Never talk bad about the food when you are the guest.

3. Don't eat the last piece of something you didn't buy.

4. Protect who is behind you and respect who is beside you.

5. Never make the first offer in a negotiation.

6. Don't take credit for the work you didn't do.

7. Dress well, no matter what the occasion.

8. Speak honestly: say what you think and mean what you say.

9. Ask more than you answer.

10. Leave the profane language for the less educated.

11. Avoid placing your phone on the table when eating with someone.

12. Listen, smile and most of all make eye contact.

13. If you're not invited, don't ask to go.

14. Never be ashamed of where you come from.

15. Don't beg for a relationship.

It was a great experience as usual, the “Service Technician” in service has always made sure that all my concerns were satisfied and all of my car’s needs were met (and wasn’t trying to ‘hurry me out’ was perfectly happy to help me when I asked to apply a previously acquired coupon) Thanks as usual you to Crown Nissan for going above and beyond as always! I felt appreciated even though the staff was working on a Saturday and even the other “Service Tech’s” were opening doors for my family and smiling at my kids. A gentleman from sales who also has kids came out of his office unprompted and asked me if he could find an on-demand kid-friendly movie for my kids (Harry Potter 2” made sure I approved then gave the kids their (enthusiastically) appreciated choice.

The kids had so much fun (4 and 6 yo’s) they asked when we could “come back??” and since we had to put their lunch “off” to get to the appointment in time the free chilled waters and the healthy (and amazingly reasonable priced) snack choices in the vending machines coupled with the complimentary bottles waters in the chilled glass-fronted mini-fridge directly beside the humongous big-screen TV we watched from very comfortable and clean couches (with side tables for our snacks and bags) REALLY saved the day.

After the healthy trail mix snacks, fruit snacks and bottled waters the kids wanted to skip the expensive Chick-Filet they usually requested and go straight to the playground and then home for healthier choices.

All I can ask Crown Nissan is: “When can we come back??!!”

I’m not sure my kids knew I was there to get an inspection, tires rotated and oil changed, but a babysitter for the day would have been more expensive and I know they will ask to come back to that “Harry Potter movie place” soon!

Best day running errands with the kids while Mom was at work ‘this’ Dad has ever had!!!! -Jonathan F. Riffey MSW, LCSW, LCAS, CCS 2/7/2025 Mental Health Therapist at Riffey Assessments and Counseling PLLC - Aged 54 Greensboro, NC resident since 1971.

I’ve been a Counselor working as a contractor in the addictions field since 2012 (CSAC, LCAS), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health therapist since 2016, and worked with thousands of clients and patients in hospitals, psychiatric units, Emergency Departments, and medical floors, as well as inpatient and outpatient substance use/mental health facilities since then.

I started my own therapy and counseling business as an individual practitioner in 2019 and have thoroughly enjoyed that aspect of my ability to reach people where they are , both in person and via Telehealth. The most challenging aspect besides always learning and growing as a clinician was navigating the administrative barriers to actually providing therapeutic solutions and then.. having time with my children who were born in 2018 and 2020 while co-parenting with my wife, as she works also.

It wasn’t until I was fortunate enough to be connected with Virtual Assistance by Jenny in February of 2023, that I really feel I began to gain traction with moving my business in the direction where I had wanted and had intended for it to go many years ago.

The progress that I’ve been able to make just “by leaving the details to Jenny” has been amazing, and has allowed me to spend more time attending trainings, honing my craft, and being fully present, both mentally and physically for my clients instead of exhausted from trying to, “hold the business end” of this agency together, while trying to simultaneously be the counsellor and therapist my clients needed me to be.

My client’s questions are answered, their paperwork is taken care of, and the insurance details are all “smoothed out” by the time the client comes to me for the initial intake.

Jennifer’s training on HIPPA compliance, regulations and her ethical approach to client/patient care relieves me of the worry I had with someone other than myself putting client/patient confidentiality first, but her training and her experience speaks for itself (and my clients LOVEn her).

Not only am I able to spend more time with my family, I’m able to be more consistently and fully present for my kids by being able to leave my phone off and my heart open, so that when I’m not seeing clients, my family “has me” and my focus can be on them.

I love have the peace and serenity of knowing that Jenny has the business end of caring for people under control and this ensures that I am able to prioritise family when I’m at the park or playground and that I can focus wholly on my clients and their mental health needs more-so, when I am sitting down with them.

Thanks to the Virtual Assistance by Jenny, this week I have been able to let go completely of worries about manageability, have easily let go of other tried-and-true ways of making extra money and I have been (completely) full-time with my private practice for months and working far less at my or any office than I have since grad school.

I have found “Jenny’s” services very reasonable as a sole proprietor just starting out, and that her company’s services pay for itself 10 times over.

I feel reborn, recharged, and energised anew, and I am able to be not only more compassionate but also more passionate than ever about private practice and the clinical world. More importantly, I hear the excited voices of my 4- and 6-year-old exclaim, “Dad!!” more than ever when I come to them to play with Legos with my son (or to design elegant doll clothes with my daughter).

From my family and from myself: “Thank you, Jenny!”

Highly recommend!
