It’s , but for the first time in 5 years I’m not breastfeeding.

It was half a decade for me and my babies. It was work and it was love. It both came naturally to me and required me to seek support and help. My story consists of pump parts, bottles, tongue ties, exclusive breastfeeding, and extended breastfeeding.

The very part of my body I held in shame for being so small, showed up in the biggest way for my babies. I’ve never been more proud of these itty bitties.

Breastmilk given in years or just a few mLs is invaluable and worth celebrating. In the same breath, however you feed your baby is important and wonderful. Breastfeeding doesn’t work for every family; if you choose peace and love as your intention while you feed your baby and you won’t ever be wrong.

I have returned to this phrase over and over as life carries on through and around me. My
children grow older, I grow older (and hopefully wiser), I witness our circumstances change, I watch loved ones come and go naturally. I used to believe I needed to fully be one idea, but now I understand I exist as many. It is my roots that reach for a common ground, while my blooming and fruit flow and vary.

In this season of motherhood and being, I will continue to welcome just a handful of births while eagerly accepting a plethora of placentas. Participating in the alchemy of placentas transforming into art and medicine brings me an unbridled joy, one that I have adequate energy, love, and time to pour into. I am offering private birth classes, taught comfortably within the home and based on parents’ schedules.

You can find my birth arts and treasures within my etsy store; everything from watercolor art to umbilical cord ties, and breastmilk soap kits. I am updating my store weekly over summer.

Birth work, art, motherhood, and teaching are my greatest joys and honor. I hope to cross paths with many along the way in support, fellowship, and service.

With trust and respect, I am needing to take a break from birth support until further notice. My family needs my focus and I cannot commit my spirit to the sacred space of birth at present.

I will still be taking placentas and offering private birth classes.

First Placenta of the year from the last baby and mama of last year.

A large Placenta that sustained a large baby, grown with love and patience. The energy from this one was a formidable confidence, a warmth that brought feelings of satisfaction and healing.

This hefty and hearty advocate weighed in at almost 2lbs! It was evident throughout its dark coloration and rich texture that mama took great care of her nutrition throughout pregnancy. This shows how important our health as mothers is, we can’t properly care for our most important little people if we ourselves are not cared for.

This birth will live in my mind vividly and is etched upon my heart forever.

She did it. She was surrounded by women (and a husband and son) who fervently believed in her and her body. She writhed and moved, sang and roared. She stood up and birthed her baby, her 10lb 23 inch long baby. She prepped for, fought for, and ultimately achieved a wildly healing HBVAC. She left us in awe of her power as she brought her baby to settle upon her chest for a peaceful transition in the golden hour.

Baby L surprised us in many ways, many times over, but solidified what we all assumed: his mother is a goddess, her strength and love is legendary.

This is all my placenta offerings in a bundle I call Alchemy. Two prints, photos, a cord keepsake, capsules, tincture, and placenta mixed with flower seeds for a dry burial.

Even if you don’t want to consume your placenta, you have the right to take it home and honor it with art or burial if you choose to. Many cultures throughout history hold sacred beliefs regarding the placenta. From a spiritual twin to a guardian Angel, whatever you believe about the placenta know that it is not mere “after birth” it was your baby’s first life force worthy of respect.

3 placentas in the last couple of weeks, waiting patiently for at least 1 more!

Each is completely unique, like the babes they sustained and advocated for in the womb. The placenta is a mother within a mother, a language of love and blood. I really love this part of birth work, specifically the prints. I read the energy and life left in each placenta and do my best to communicate with art how much love each one contains.

As a birthworker, I’m not a boss babe or businesswoman. My website and attempts to sell myself, itemizing birthwork felt burdensome and insincere. I’ve shut down those avenues, now I’m reachable just by phone and friends. If you need me, call or text me.

I am not out there hustling, but I am here for birth, education, art, placentas, etc. I protect my energy and focus by only serving 1-2 births in a due period. For me, less is more. I’m open to trading and investing on a sliding scale to ensure my hands and heart are accessible to everyone.
