My OB/GYN and employer for {16} years. The man that cut Isabella out of my womb and placed onto my chest. The man who believed that I would be a Mom, when the reality and statistics were against me. The man I could confide in, trust, respected, and loved for all these years, retired today. We celebrated and said our goodbyes, then just like that, he was gone. No more morning greetings or goodnight evenings. No more questioning what โrideโ he would roll up in, and no more rattling of his endless keys on his keychain as he strolled in with that dang bookbag in tow. A beach bum and wine enthusiast are his newest titles, but he will always be Richard J. Taavon, MD to me. A true ๐ป๐ด๐ถ๐ด๐ฝ๐ณ says it best. From 1996-2025 he dedicated his life to women's health, prenatal care, and delivering babies into the world. I am abundantly blessed for the time we had together๐
