We are honored to share that has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation (MIF) in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

This partnership was formalized alongside Sabra Mohammed, CEO of MIF, and Alice Mushi, Programs Director, whose leadership and vision are deeply aligned with advancing women’s economic empowerment on the island.

Together, we are launching a collaborative initiative to support the Furahia Wanawake Group through vocational training in natural body care production, entrepreneurship development, and sustainable income generation. This work will center on equipping women with practical skills, business knowledge, and mentorship. Rooted in Zanzibar’s natural resources and cultural heritage.

As someone whose family is from Zanzibar and who has maintained deep ties to the island for years, this initiative is especially meaningful to me.

This is not simply a program - it is a commitment to building alongside local women to create long-term economic opportunity, strengthen leadership, and uplift families and communities.

December 19, 2015 — my very first holiday market season at the . Nailah’s Shea was just beginning. Simple packaging, humble displays, and one of my very first creations: Spice Shea Butter Soap, a scent rooted in heritage and love.

I didn’t have everything polished—but I had purpose, passion, and faith. This moment is a reminder that growth doesn’t require perfection, just the courage to start and trust the journey one step at a time.
