At Carolina Pediatrics of the Triad, we believe in caring for the whole child — body, mind, and spirit. Our Collaborative Care Program is designed to support children and teens who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or other emotional and behavioral challenges.

Collaborative Care brings together your child’s primary care physician, our Behavioral Health Specialist, and a psychiatric consultant to form a coordinated care team — working hand in hand with your family. This approach allows your child to receive mental health support right here in our office, in a setting that feels familiar and comfortable.

If this sounds like something that could help your family, make sure to bring it up during your child's next visit, or call the office to speak with one of our staff members.

As winter progresses, and school starts back, seasonal illnesses are making the rounds, but there are steps you can take to help keep your family healthy!

1. Wash Hands Often – Frequent handwashing with soap and water is one of the best ways to prevent illness.
2. Cover Coughs & Sneezes – Use a tissue or your elbow to help stop the spread of germs.
3. Stay Hydrated & Eat Well – A balanced diet and plenty of fluids support a strong immune system.
4. Get Plenty of Rest – Sleep is essential for overall health and recovery.
5. Keep Up with Vaccines – Flu shots and other recommended vaccines can help protect your child from preventable illnesses. View our vaccine page on our website to learn more about recommendations.
6. Stay Home if Sick – If your child isn’t feeling well, keep them home to rest and recover while preventing the spread of germs.

And don't forget that if your child has symptoms of a cold, flu, RSV, or other illnesses lasting less than 3 days, you can bring them in to our Simple Sick Clinic which runs M-F from 8-9 AM

Happy New Years from Carolina Pediatrics! In honor of the holiday, our offices will be closing today at 12:30 PM, as well as closed tomorrow for New Years Day. Our phones and office will reopen on Friday, January 2nd at 9am. Have a safe and happy holiday 🎉

Did you know that we are a proud Community Partner with BackPack Beginnings? Since September of 2019, when HealthySteps started at Carolina Pediatrics, BackPack Beginnings has provided the practice with 2358 nutrition bags and 3225 packs of diapers.

We are so proud of the work they do. Not only is it 95% volunteer run, but they have over 200 Community Partners (such as us) as well. Last year alone, they served over 27,000 children, and distributed close to one million pounds of food and goods from their Family Market.

Please help us congratulate Renata on an amazing 20 years with Carolina Pediatrics!

Renata is the heart of our office, our “mother hen” who keeps everyone cared for, fed, and smiling. From her legendary cheesecake and love of macaroni, to her dedication to helping new team members thrive, she brings warmth (even if she’s always freezing) and wisdom to everything she does.

Thank you, Renata, for two decades of kindness, laughter, and hard work. We’re so lucky to have you!
