Phillip Ward is a North Carolina and California Licensed Acupuncturist and a Nationally Certified Herbalist. He committed to walking the path of a healer in 1995, when he began studying the art of harmonious living with a tai chi and qi gong master. The same year he graduated from the Body Therapy Institute and opened a bodywork and energy healing practice in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1998, he co-founded the Golden Flower Tai Chi School of Greensboro and began teaching bodywork and energy healing at a school for massage therapy. Since that time he has continued to grow his knowledge in health and healing by attending Yo San University’s School of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as studying varies forms of Qi Gong with three accomplished master. Incorporating 20 years of experience in Nutritional Counseling, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Deep Tissue Massage, Qi Gong, and meditation, every treatment is individualized to support patient’s immediate and long-term healthcare needs.

Spring is the time for new beginnings!

Starting on the Spring Equinox, March 20, 2023 through May 21st, there will be two different groups offered. You are welcome to do both or chose just one.

The first group:
Health, Wellness, and Weight Loss.
This group is going to focus on using multiple tools to help become your healthiest self! Tracking macros, dialing in your blood work/labs, workouts, lowering blood glucose, supplements, sleep tips, recovery strategies and more!

The Second Group:
Self-Mastery and Meditation.
This group will focus on coming to “know thy self” with the intention of mastering the mind, emotions, and physical body through breathwork, self-inquiry, meditations, qi gong, readings from the Tao Te Ching and other profound texts, and more!

Again you are welcome to do one or both!

Also, there will be two optional tea ceremonies within these 9 weeks! Message for details!

Try something new to kickstart 2023! Empower yourself and feel amazing while being part of a life-changing, Wellness Community Challenge!

For many, January and February are tough months. With cooler weather, less sunlight, and spending more time inside, these months have a strong association with melancholy, depression, weight gain, and low energy. We are going to shift that with a 9 week wellness program!

This 9 week process will provide a supportive playground for creating healthy habits with food, movement, meditation, mindfulness, self-discipline, focus, and sleep. Who’s up for a wellness and weight loss challenge?! This is going to be fun, obtainable, and effective! Everything is more fun when we feel good! So our goals will be simple: more energy, better health, and to lose some unwanted weight! Here’s how it will work:

-This is a 10 week program taking us right up to Thanksgiving.

-We will meet every Saturday or Sunday on Zoom, for a short check-in, pep talk, progress report, Q&A, tips, tricks, recipes, many laughs, and possibly a good cry.

-You do not need a gym membership or any exercise equipment. Just show up and keep showing up for yourself and the group and you will see results. Compliance is the Science!

-The initial fee is only $100, that’s $10 a week! But if you get lazy and stop showing up for yourself and the group, that price can change : )

If you have brain fog, a sluggish or loose digestive system, IBS, ulcerative colitis or other inflammatory bowel diseases it is highly likely your gut microbiome is less than optimal. When attempting to enhance the gut flora there are a couple of key points to remember:
-Include a variety of fruits and veggies throughout the week. So eating the same thing everyday is not recommended unless you are on an elimination diet.
-Include probiotic and prebiotic foods with most meals.
-Start slow. A teaspoon or so is fine, then work your way up if you desire as your digestive system adjusts to this new healthy overhaul.

A few tips that I include in my microbiome enhancing daily smoothies:

-Add kefir AND yogurt. A half cup of each is a nice addition to a smoothie or protein shake.
-Add a non digestible starch such as a half or whole green banana.
-Add blueberries, strawberries, and room temperature green tea. The gut microbiome love polyphenol.
-And if you want to get adventurous add a tablespoon of your favorite kraut, YES, to your smoothies haha. Trust me, if you are a fan of sweet and savory in combo this will make your brain and tastebuds do cartwheels. The sweet of the berries and the salt from the kraut is bang on. Blend the bejeus out of it and indulge. So good.

Hope you can join me on Saturday, July 30, at 10am in Greensboro, for The Five Pillars of Health! We are going to have a blast discussing loads of the good stuff: what the heck should we eat, the best exercises for wellness, meditation, breath, improving sleep and much more!

A few milligrams of medicine will never influence your health as much as the thousands of pounds of food you will eat in your lifetime. Nor how much you move your body and the relationships you chose to engage in.

If you are tired of being sick and tired, fatigued and unmotivated the Five Pillars of Health in your life are likely not being sufficiently addressed. In this workshop we will explore the Five main areas in your life that must be in balance in order for health, healing, and an abundance of energy to occur. With so much information out there about what to eat or not eat, which exercise is best, should you mediate, etc. etc., balancing the Five Pillars of Health is the first step to optimal health and well-being.
