❄️ Cold Weather Reminder for Our Community ❄️

While the current Winter Weather Advisory is forecasted north of our area, we want our patients and community to stay prepared. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing next week across West Alabama.

Please use extra caution when traveling late Sunday night into early Monday. Any lingering moisture on roadways could freeze and create slick spots.

Remember the 3 P’s during cold weather:
🌱 Plants – Bring them inside or cover them
👨‍👩‍👧 People – Bundle up and check on loved ones
🐾 Pets – Bring them indoors or ensure proper shelter

Thanks to the Hale County Health Care Authority, rural healthcare in Alabama is about to change for the better. As the winner of the highest tier of the Diamond Impact Award, Hale County Health Care Authority will launch the Hale County Rural Hospital Innovation Zone, which will achieve the following:
🎓 Launch a hospital fellowship program to teach recent college graduates about rural healthcare systems
🏠 Expand a program to focus on patients transitioning from hospital care to home
🧪 Create intern and apprenticeship opportunities for students at Greensboro High School and the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences
➕ And much more!

This National Rural Health Day, we are thankful for the efforts of those working to expand rural care in our state, especially Hale County Health Care Authority.

Yesterday we had the honor of presenting a special appreciation award to a man whose dedication has shaped Hale County Hospital for more than 35 years.

For over three decades, Mr. Ulysses Johnson has been a steadfast advocate for our community, our patients, and our employees. His leadership, guidance, and heart for service have strengthened our mission and helped us grow into who we are today.

As he retires from the Board, we celebrate not just his years of service—but the impact he leaves behind. His commitment will continue to echo through every life touched by our hospital.

Thank you, Ulysses Johnson, for believing in us, supporting us, and giving so much of yourself to this community. We are deeply grateful. 💙
