At our 15-year celebration of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) work in Guilford County, we were honored to recognize someone whose vision helped make it all possible.
NAMI Guilford County proudly presented the CIT Founders Award to retired Captain Demarr Inman with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office for bringing CIT programming to Guilford County and for her many years of leadership and support of this work.
Her early vision helped lay the foundation for a more compassionate, collaborative response to individuals experiencing mental health crises in our community. What began as an idea has grown into a strong partnership across law enforcement, behavioral health, peers, and community organizations—and her influence is still felt today.
We are deeply grateful for Demarr’s commitment and lasting impact on CIT in Guilford County.
