In recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Family Service of the Piedmont is partnering with Abolition NC for screenings of Bring to Light, a documentary on human trafficking in North Carolina.

Visit www.abolitionNC.org/Light/ to preview the trailer, RSVP to an already scheduled screening, or request a screening at your organization.

"I believe that by acknowledging what happened, bringing it to light, will take away their power because they work in the darkness. They work behind clothes doors. And when you open those doors, when you say 'hey this is what happened to me' their power is immediately gone. Their cover is blown," (Human Trafficking Survivor, Bring to Light)

The Society of Saints at St. Pius X Catholic School Greensboro, NC generously contributed travel-sized toiletries to Family Service of the Piedmontโ€™s Division of Victim Services, demonstrating their commitment to stewardship and community outreach.

In December, the school organized a campus-wide donation drive, where students actively participated by collecting travel-sized toiletries in stockings placed in every classroom. This initiative not only fostered student involvement but also addressed an urgent community need.

๐ŸŒŸ Program Spotlight: Children's Advocacy Centers ๐ŸŒŸ

At Family Service of the Piedmont we are committed to building safe and healthy families. One of the most vital ways we address issues of child abuse is through our Childrenโ€™s Advocacy Centers (CACs) in Greensboro and High Point. These centers provide a safe, supportive environment for children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse to tell their story and get the resources they need.

Our team of highly trained professionals works tirelessly to investigate these sensitive cases, ensuring that every child receives the care and attention they deserve. Last fiscal year, our CACs served 472 families and conducted 387 forensic interviews - that's an average of about 8 cases per week. ๐Ÿ’™

The impact of these services is immeasurable as we help children find healing, support, and justice. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families.

This Christmas, adults and children staying at our domestic violence shelter felt the power of community thanks to Atlantic Packaging's Greensboro Beechwood branch. Their donation of meal kits and gift cards helped provide nourishing meals and meaningful support during the holidays. We are so thankful for partners who show up with compassion and care.

Your support makes it possible for Family Service of the Piedmont to do life-saving work. For every $1 invested in substance use treatment, it saves the community $12 in reduced drug-related crime, criminal justice costs, theft and health care costs.

Will you help us build safe and healthy families in Guilford County? There's still time to make your 2025 tax deductible donation to help save lives in our community.
