Today is a moment to recognize the physicians who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

Medicine is not only practiced in hospitals and clinics. It is also advanced in laboratories, classrooms, and research centers — wherever curiosity and evidence guide the pursuit of better treatments and deeper understanding.

Throughout my career, I’ve believed that the most meaningful progress in medicine happens when we continue asking questions about how the body truly works.

The discovery of nitric oxide as a signaling molecule was once an unexpected idea. Today, it has reshaped how we understand circulation, vascular health, and many aspects of human physiology.
