⭐️ ⭐️ HAPPY SLP MONTH ⭐️⭐️

Amy started with us as a Clinical Fellow in June of 2019. It has been awesome to watch her grow as a therapist over the past 6 years. She finished her CF, during COVID, with flying colors demonstrating a level of competence far beyond what is typical for a young therapist. We are so glad Amy chose to stay on our team at Interact after the completion of her CF. .

Amy really enjoys working with children with early language /language delays, and those friends with severe delays.

She tells us her “love for speech therapy grew from a desire to help people, especially little ones, and make a lifelong impact on families. The relationships I get to build with children and their parents is the most rewarding part of speech therapy for me. I especially enjoy being able to observe progress being made with my clients over the course of therapy. I love seeing families and children build confidence and communication during my time with them.”

Amy is currently treating in the Randolph County area. While we miss seeing her bubbly self in the clinic, we know she is making an impact within that community.

⭐️⭐️ HAPPY SLP MONTH ⭐️ ⭐️

Hely was born in Fremont, California, and raised in Dallas, Texas. She now lives in North Carolina. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas, where her master’s program included specialized training through the Callier Center for Communication Disorders.

Hely is passionate about working in pediatrics because it allows her to combine creativity, compassion, and play in supporting children and their families. She finds it deeply rewarding to help children grow, reach developmental milestones, and overcome challenges. She values the meaningful relationships she builds with families and is continually inspired by each child’s resilience and uniqueness.

Hely has completed additional training in Meaningful Speech, a course focused on gestalt language processing.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and playing board games

We have loved watching Hely grow in her time with Interact and can’t wait to see her flourish into her SLP career.

Originally from Virginia, Renee now resides in Greensboro, NC. She earned her degrees from James Madison University in 2009 and Longwood University in 2011. In her spare time, Renee enjoys traveling, caring for her houseplants, and spending quality time with her husband and pets. Passionate about working with children from a young age, she appreciates their humor and lively spirit. Renee finds great fulfillment in supporting young learners and values the meaningful connections she builds with their families.

Renee began working with us part-time in the afternoons and joined our team full-time last summer. Her bubbly, outgoing personality has been a wonderful addition to the clinic, and we truly enjoy having her with us.

Skylar Jones hails from Mount Airy, NC, but spent most of her childhood in High Point, NC. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UNC-Greensboro. Skylar has a deep passion for working with children and finds their zest for life truly inspiring. She enjoys helping her young clients discover and express their unique voices. Outside the clinic, Skylar loves spending quality time with her husband and sweet baby boy. She enjoys exploring new hiking trails and relaxing with a good book.

Skylar started as a clinical fellow and we have enjoyed watching her graduate and blossom into her speech therapy career.

⭐️ ⭐️ HAPPY SLP MONTH ⭐️⭐️

Today we would like for you all to meet our speech and language pathologist, Joanna. Joanna has been an SLP for Interact since January 2012!!! Interact is so lucky to have had such an amazing therapist like Joanna for so long!

Joanna is always smiling and brings so much joy to others, especially her clients and their families. She spends a lot of time in the community or on telehealth so we don’t get to see her in the clinic often. It always makes our day when she pops into the clinic to say hello!

Joanna is experienced in or has certifications for Cycles for Phonology, Apraxia, Stuttering, Family Coaching Model, Telehealth, STRAWS: Fun and Functional

She tells us that she really enjoys “working with children with limited speech intelligibility and/or expressive language.”

When asked what she loves most about speech and language pathology she says, “getting to work closely with families and watch my clients grow and develop communication.”
