Graduation is supposed to feel like everything is finally coming together… but for a lot of people, it feels like the opposite.

The uncertainty.

Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone—and you’re not failing.

From a therapist’s perspective, overwhelm often comes from trying to hold too much at once—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Here are a few ways to gently compartmentalize and regain control:

• Name what’s in front of you – Instead of “everything is too much,” break it down into specific stressors
• Prioritize by capacity, not pressure – Ask yourself: What can I realistically handle right now?
• Create mental “folders” – Set aside time for certain thoughts instead of carrying them all day
• Give yourself permission to pause – Rest is productive when you’re overwhelmed
• Ground yourself in the present – Focus on what’s within your control today

You don’t have to solve everything at once. One step at a time is enough. 💛
