REPOST FROM
COLD & SAUNA: SCIENCE & PROTOCOLS
-
The cold exposure and heat can be done on separate days or same days. Ideally they are done on the same days with cold done first. A simple protocol is four minutes of cold exposure followed by 20 minutes of sauna three times a week. THE EXACT TEMPERATURE DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS: I suggest using heat or cold that is uncomfortable but safe; there is no specific Rx for all.
-
Submersion in cold water is better than cold showers; cold showers are better than nothing. It’s hard to get sufficient cold exposure just being outside in the cold unless you are in a very cold environment with minimal clothing.
-
My read of the data are that hot sauna (wet or dry) is better than infrared but the infrared probably doesn’t hurt. There really isn’t much data on that.

We are indebted to for doing the high-quality peer reviewed work on this subject. She will join me for an Instagram live this Sunday! Stay tuned for the announcement.

We committed. We hiked. We conquered: The highest mountain in the contiguos US. 14505 feet altitude. Mt Whitney.
9 women. 18 hours. Started at 12:45midnight. With one hour of sleep, but the adrenaline kept me going. It was hard as hell, but the satisfaction that comes after pursuing one of the toughest challenges I’ve done (mentally and physically) is priceless. Only 1/3 of the people who start this hike, finishes it. I’m so proud that our whole group made it.

More challenges to come. For now, I’ve been resting and snuggling my kids and puppy. Thanks to Rob for holding the fort back home and clients for their support.

With so many options to eat? How can you know what works for you?

So, hear me out: all of them work when done right.

What’s important is to check in with yourself and know where you are right now on your journey?

How do you feel about your health? What are you ready to do to get to your goals?

How much are you willing to learn?

💪🏽

Setting goals is easy.

Making a plan can be easy. Although a good plan has to be broken down into small, tiny actions to work.

Putting the plan in action everyday is where the challenge is.

It can feel overwhelming, hard, and just inconvenient.

BUT

When you set your goals behind a strong reason; with the right support and you just do it- you will begin taking action. The action will create a momentum that will motivate you to go, go,go!

You will be closer to your goal(s).

If “you just hope for the best” then that goal will be distant until it becomes a thought.

Choose the challenge. Choose your plan. Reach your goal.

Think of a goal you’ve been trying to achieve, what is your plan?
How does it look?
Are you taking the right steps to get closer to it?

It’s the simple things that make a huge impact… Sunday are to be take it easy, prepare for the week. It’s a time to take a break to do something that’s good for the soul…

Be the best that you can be. Be consistent. Put the effort. Do it.

But don’t forget to take a break. To recharge. And do something that brings you joy.
For me, it’s simple: quality family time😍🐶

Want to drop those lb. Or start doing exercise? But you think you can’t because of some idea in head? Think of something very small that you can do and will get you closer to your goal… 🤔

Just saying that it’s all in your head. We have a set of beliefs about specific abilities we are good at. If you believe that you’re good at something, you’ll work hard on getting better. You believe you’re a good runner, you’ll run everyday to get a faster pace or longer distance.

If you think you’re not good at something, it’s possible you won’t try hard. You believe you’re not good at preparing meals, you won’t try and eat whatever you have when you get super hungry. BUT imagine if you start making a small change and one day a week you have a meal ready to eat at lunch time??

How would that make you feel? 🦸🏽‍♀️

Your mindset is so important because you can change your idea of what you can or cannot do and increase your confidence.

Part of helping my clients is doing small actions with 100% success to see that they can do it and begin to see changes. Changing those beliefs.

Why’s one thing you know you’re good at?
