It was a great pleasure to talk about longevity, aging in place, developing a longer term plan to remain in farming, and to discuss NC AgrAbility with 40 cattlemen/ranchers/folks this week in Davidson County. I reminded them that in our country we ask more out of farmers than we do any other group--to do all they do and assume nearly all the financial, personal, physical, and family risk and then to have all that potentially easily wiped away by markets or weather. They are really also concerned about road safety as more housing developments creep onto nearby farmland and into places where farm equipment is on the road. N.C. Caswell Cooperative Extension will be offering a Small Farms Bootcamp! The Bootcamp will cover: Tree Fruit,Small Ruminants, Season Extension, Meat/Egg Labeling, Small Fruit, and Pasture Management.
October 21st & November 4th meets will be held at 126 Court Square Yanceyville NC, 27379 in the kitchen.
The October 28th meet will be held on zoom.
