NCDHM is a great time to talk about sugar intake with your sweet pediatric patients and their caregivers. We know not all sugar is bad but how much is too much? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends less than 25 grams (about 6 teaspoons) of added sugar per day for children 2 years of age and older. For children under two years of age, the AAP recommends avoiding all added sugars. For more tips and patient resources, go to adha.org/ncdhm.
