Spring in Chinese Medicine 🌱

Spring is the season of growth, movement, and new beginnings. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s connected to the Wood element and the Liver.

The primary emotion of spring?
Anger.

But not just anger in the explosive sense…
This also includes frustration, irritability, resentment, or that feeling of being stuck.

In this system, anger isn’t something to suppress or judge.
It’s energy. It’s movement. It’s information.

🌿 When this energy flows freely:
You may feel motivated, creative, and clear about your direction.
You’re able to set boundaries, make decisions, and move forward with purpose.

🌿 When it gets stuck:
That’s when emotions can build up—leading to tension, mood swings, fatigue, or even feeling disconnected from yourself.

Spring invites us to gently ask:

What’s ready to grow?
And what might be getting in the way?

Through practices like Qigong, breathwork, and mindful movement, we can begin to support this natural flow so growth doesn’t feel forced, but supported.

🌸 Healing doesn’t mean getting rid of emotions.
It means learning how to move with them.

Anxiety
Fatigue
Tension in the body
Feeling disconnected

From a Chinese Medicine perspective, this may be a sign that your qi is no longer flowing smoothly.

When energy gets stuck, the body holds onto stress.

Healing doesn’t always start in mind, it can begin in the body.

Self-compassion invites the idea of offering ourselves kindness and understanding when emotional pain arises instead of getting stuck in self-judgement, feelings of isolation, or being swept up in emotional reactivity. Practicing self-compassion can be what you need to soften yet embrace emotional suffering.

Have you considered using an energy healing practice to process and heal from emotionally charged experiences? These difficult, traumatic experiences can energetically impact our emotional health, our physical bodies, and can diminish our spiritual growth if they remain unresolved.
