We would like to introduce you to our next “Employee Spotlight”, Samantha Shannon, better known as Sam to her family, friends and co-workers. Sam has been with the Pantalone Funeral Home since January of 2025. She grew up in Gaithersburg, MD and now resides in Greensburg. She began her employment with us as a part-time funeral home assistant while completing her studies at the Pittsburgh School of Mortuary Science and Point Park. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Funeral Service Administration at Point Park, she began her full-time internship with us in August of 2025. She will complete her internship and become a licensed funeral director in September of 2026. Through CANA, Samantha is a Certified Crematory Operator. You will see her at most viewings and funerals and assists with the workings of the day-to-day functions of the funeral home. She has learned to wash cars, shovel snow and salt, w**d, clean and set up for viewings and funerals as well as all of the paperwork that goes into preparing for funerals. She sits in on arrangements and helps families with choices to enhance the services that they are planning.
She is the youngest member of our team, but she has become part of the “Pantalone Funeral Home family” and we consider her very mature, caring and professional. At home are her two cats, Oakley and Nezzie, both American Shorthair Tabbies. She is a member of the ACFDA and the NFDA (both affiliations are for funeral directors). She enjoys music, theatre, and always takes an opportunity to learn something new.
