We celebrate the wonderful life of Calvin E. Pollins Jr.

Calvin was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a faithful member of the Greensburg YMCA where he enjoyed friendships as well as swimming. Calvin was a loving Papa to his two little granddaughters with whom he shared his time, his playful energy and his sweet tooth. Papa always had candy in his pocket. Prior to his retirement Calvin worked for forty-four years as a sales representative with Beckwith Machinery Co - later Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co. The seventh generation to live there, Calvin lovingly cared for his family's Bicentennial Farm and was always happiest when on a tractor or driving one of his trucks.

We celebrate the wonderful life of Stanley Ross Hunt. Born on August 31, 1939, to Robert Jr. and Irene Hunt on a farm in Ramsey, Illinois, he was the second eldest among four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Betsy Hunt. A respected business leader, Stan served as General Manager, President and CEO of Powerex Inc. in Youngwood, PA—a joint venture between General Electric, Westinghouse, and Mitsubishi—from 1984 until his retirement in 2007. Leading with integrity, he guided the company through numerous challenges, safeguarding hundreds of jobs and transforming Powerex into a thriving, sustainable enterprise. In recognition of his impact, the company dedicated a building in his honor: The Stan Hunt Manufacturing Center. Stan offered his strategic insight and steady leadership to his community as well. He served for decades on the boards of the United Way and the American Red Cross. During his 50 years in the Greensburg area, he poured his heart into Charter Oak Church, helping shepherd it from a small gathering in a basement into a multi‑campus community ministering to thousands. He served faithfully as Chair of the Church Council and was known as a truthful, compassionate, wise leader whose faith influenced countless lives. His favorite scripture, John 15:5—“Jesus is the vine and we are the branches; those who remain in Him will bear much fruit”—was a guiding truth throughout his life. The fruit of that faith touched everyone who knew him. His faith in Jesus Christ became the steady bedrock foundation on which the family would turn to for guidance, strength, and direction. In his free time, Stan enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, golf, ping-pong, and billiards. His competitive spirit could be heard in the hearty cheers that filled the room whenever the Steelers scored.

We honor the wonderful life of Mr. Donald J. Lettrich. Donald was a graduate of Charleroi High School and earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Penn State University. His professional life was dedicated to practicing architecture in Westmoreland County, first as a partner in the Roach, Walfish, Lettrich Architecture Firm. Later, he continued his career in partnership with his brother in The Lettrich Group. His work has left a lasting visual impression on Westmoreland County, including contributions to the Westmoreland County Courthouse, hospitals, schools, and countless commercial buildings throughout the region. His love for the three-dimensional art of building and architecture was more than a profession; it was a lifelong passion that brought him great joy and purpose. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Donald embraced life with many passions, including sports cars, autocross, where he proudly earned numerous trophies, snow skiing, and water skiing. Fiercely independent, he delighted in anything that let him go fast. He was well known in the community for the many Corvettes he drove throughout much of his life. His home of 56 years, designed and built by Donald himself in 1969, was his pride and joy and was filled with numerous oil paintings, watercolors, and sketches created by both himself and his brother, Robert.

We celebrate the wonderful life of Rebecca B. Humphrey Nee Rebecca Coulter Barclay. Rebecca was a descendant of both early Swiss-German and Scotch-Irish settlers of western Pennsylvania. Many of those having crossed the mountains and settled in Bedford and Westmoreland Counties in the period 1780-1820. Her paternal ancestors included Col. Hugh Barclay, an early Ranger on the Frontiers of Bedford; Alexander Johnston, an early surveyor and builder of Kingston House by the Loyalhanna Dam in 1815; and Thomas Johnston Barclay, founder of the Barclay Bank in Greensburg in 1854 (later Barclay-Westmoreland Trust Company). She was also the last descendant living in Greensburg of the early Coulter family, which settled here prior to 1790. These ancestors included Eli Coulter and his grandson General Richard Coulter, who served in both the Mexican and Civil Wars. Other prominent Greensburg ancestral families included the Alexanders and Bradys of Cumberland County, Eichers, Glunts, Kuhns, Marchands, and Weltys. Rebecca's early schooling included the Fourth Ward in Greensburg, Winchester-Thurston in Pittsburgh, and the Westover School in Connecticut. She followed her mother by enrolling in Smith College in Northampton, MA, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1948. In college she developed a deep love of science and the natural world after having spent a good deal of her senior year studying fruit flies. That curiosity about wildlife and love of animals remained a driving force throughout her life. Becca was married to Arthur F. Humphrey Jr. in 1948. They moved to a small farm on the outskirts of town that had once been the country seat of early Greensburg Judge John Young and his Clopper descendants. There they became the parents of three adopted children. Rebecca was a member of the Friday Club, Pike Run Country Club, and Rolling Rock Club, as well as the Garden Club of Allegheny County for many years. Her love of travel led her to many international adventures, with a particular fondness for trips to the Arctic and Antarctic, as well as the island of South Georgia. She claimed to be happiest when visiting very cold climes. Rebecca was a steadfast contributor to a host of wildlife charities.

We celebrate the wonderful life of Lois Ann Denning. She was a graduate of Penn Joint High School and went on to wear many hats throughout her extensive career. Most recently, she spent over ten years as head bank teller at First National Bank in Greensburg. She was beloved by her colleagues and customers, always willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need. She cared deeply about sharing and celebrating her Slovenian culture, as Treasurer of the Westmoreland County Federation of SNPJ Lodges. Lois was known and loved by many for her tremendous strength, fun-loving spirit, joyful presence, and caring nature. An ovarian and breast cancer survivor, she was passionate about helping other patients. She annually dedicated her time and energy to raising funds directly supporting local cancer patients by organizing and hosting the Pretty in Pink Polka Dance for the last 14 years. She profoundly touched countless lives, leaving a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. When she wasn’t spending time helping others, she enjoyed traveling to visit friends, bringing loved ones together in times of celebration, hosting and attending too many polka dances to count, and never passing up a trip to the casino. Lois took immense pride in raising her two girls. Her bright light will shine on through each of them. Lois felt blessed to have found love and companionship in both Joe and Gary across different seasons of life. Although she may be on a different dance floor, we know in our hearts that she is continuing to polka the night away.
