We are proud sponsors of a free upcoming pet grief event! Our art therapist and grief specialist Kristy and therapy dog Baymax will be creating a interactive pet memorial mural that you can add to that day. Grief is very real in pet loss, we just don't talk about it enough, and we all want to honor it. This is a event open to the public, all are welcome, & it will be a safe space for pet grief.

If you are unable to attend and would like your pets name or a message added to the art piece please contact Kristy at Kristyinnersight@gmail.com

Your words matter more than you think. đź’¬

When supporting someone with depression, offering empathy over advice can make a world of difference. Simple, compassionate phrases like “I’m here for you” or “You’re not alone” can help someone feel seen, heard, and supported.

At Footprints to Recovery Mental Health, we’re here for you too. 💚

This is a great graphic to explain the ACES. To calculate your ACES score, tally how many of the experiences you had in the picture before age 18. But remember, while this can be important information, it isn't prescriptive (there are also traumatic childhood experiences not on the original aces.) There is healing though, and we are here to help.

Trauma in childhood can shape a lifetime.
ACEs—Adverse Childhood Experiences—include abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction. These experiences can change brain development, increase the risk of mental and physical illness, and shorten lives.

🧠 Did you know?

Research shows that individuals with 6 or more ACEs have a 19-year shorter lifespan on average.
These are some of the things observed in individuals with high ACE scores:
-Likely to develop chronic diseases such as diabetes, strokes, cancers, PTSD, and other health concerns.
-Prone to developing mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety.

But ACEs are not destiny. Healing is possible.
Education is the first step toward prevention.

Are you experiencing the end-of-summer blues? If so, you're not alone! Here's what it is and how to deal.

As the days get shorter and routines shift, many people start to feel a little off — emotionally, mentally, even physically. You might be feeling drained after summer, sad or nostalgic as summer activities wind down, or anxious or depressed at the thought of going back to school or autumn responsibilities.

Here are some tips:
🌞 Allow yourself to feel without judgment
🌞 Plan something fun for the fall to look forward to
🌞 Ease back into routine, if possible.
🌞 Journal about your favorite memories.

It's okay to struggle with transitions! And, if you're feeling stuck, you dont have to struggle alone. We're here to help. Give us a call or text to get started:
